\"\"Jamestown\u00a0 (JSDC)\u00a0 The Spiritwood Energy Park Association (SEPA) announced Tuesday that it has entered into a Letter of Intent with Glass Investments Projects Inc. to develop, construct and operate a large-scale commercial greenhouse that could employ approximently100 full-time positions. Construction is planned to start next spring.<\/p>\n

The News Release went on to say, Glass Investments Projects Inc. \u2013 Delta, BC, is an experienced owner and operator of large-scale greenhouse production facilities.\u00a0 Existing facilities incorporate innovative industry-leading technology.<\/p>\n

The proposed Spiritwood Energy Park location provides existing infrastructure and facilities, including the availability of CO2, steam, water supply and transportation logistics. These attributes make the property an optimal location for the development and operation of a large-scale commercial greenhouse.\u00a0 The 60 acres are located directly south of the Dakota Spirit Ag Energy Project, to be moved into SEPA and matching funds for the project from the City of Jamestown and Stutsman County.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cThis is an exciting day for the Jamestown region and North Dakota agriculture with the announcement of the first commercial large-scale greenhouse project utilizing CO2 from Midwest AgEnergy and steam from the Great River Energy facility. It is a unique opportunity to expand North Dakota agriculture, with energy and agriculture working together.\u201d Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said. \u201cThe project is a great example of collaboration between local, private and state entities with development funding provided by the Agricultural Products Utilization Commission. North Dakota health officials reported 234 new positive COVID-19 cases and one additional death. The number of new positive cases Tuesday included 110 in Grand Forks County. Health officials also reported 36 cases in Burleigh County and three in neighboring Morton County. The counties that include the Bismarck metropolitan area had been state\u2019s hot spot for the virus in recent weeks. Health officials said the number of active cases was 1,681 on Tuesday, an increase of 24 from Monday. North Dakota\u2019s death toll from the coronavirus was 138 as of Tuesday.<\/p>\n
