These attributes make the property an optimal location for the development and operation of a large-scale commercial greenhouse.<\/p>\n Casey Houweling, of Glass Investment Projects Inc., says, \u201cWe have been working with the development team in North Dakota for a few years now and are excited to see this project move to the next level. Growing the best tomatoes doesn\u2019t come easy. Our facilities are the most technically-advanced and environmentally-friendly greenhouse operations in the world. Building a greenhouse facility in the Spiritwood Energy Park will allow us to utilize of all the synergies available in the energy park. In our quest for perfection, we have become world-renowned as a pioneer of technologies that improve sustainability, food safety, yields, and consistency and are eager to bring these capabilities to North Dakota<\/p>\n Governor Doug Burgum says, \u201cSince taking office in 2016, Lt. Gov. Sanford and I have championed the opportunity to harness our state\u2019s vast and valuable CO2 resources as an input for value-added industries including large-scale greenhouses. Seeing this project take this important step toward fruition is great news for the ag community, the economy and North Dakota as a whole.\u00a0 We\u2019re thrilled for the Jamestown area and excited about the example this sets for current and future collaboration between our state\u2019s two largest industries, agriculture and energy. And we\u2019re grateful to our team members at the Department of Commerce who approved over $200,000 in grants for this project in 2017 and 2019 and continue to work with the developers, local economic development officials and other agencies to bring jobs to our state and region and diversify our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n North Dakota Agriculture Commission, Doug Goehring adds, \u201cThis is an exciting day for the Jamestown region and North Dakota agriculture with the announcement of the first commercial large-scale greenhouse project utilizing CO2 from Midwest AgEnergy and steam from the Great River Energy facility. It is a unique opportunity to expand North Dakota agriculture, with energy and agriculture working together.\u00a0 The project is a great example of collaboration between local, private and state entities with development funding provided by the Agricultural Products Utilization Commission. Health officials said the number of active cases was 1,681 on Tuesday, an increase of 24 from Monday. (AP) \u2014 Police say they found a large amount of methamphetamine in the vehicle of a Minot man who led officers on a high-speed chase in northwestern North Dakota. The pursuit started in Berthold on Highway 2 after the driver sped away from a traffic stop for a minor offense Tuesday. Authorities say the suspect at times drove into the oncoming traffic lane before the chase ended in Burlington. The driver and a female passenger fled from the vehicle along a river bank. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota\u2019s Supreme Court has ordered a measure meant to significantly change the state\u2019s election process from appearing on the November ballot. North Dakota Voters First\u2019s proposed constitutional amendment aimed to transfer the responsibility of drawing political districts from the Legislature to the voter-approved state Ethics Commission, among other things. Opponents sued earlier this month, saying sponsors of the measure failed to provide a full text of the initiative while they were gathering signatures. (AP) \u2014 Sanford Health is opening a new clinic in Grand Forks. The organization said Tuesday it plans to builds a 22,000 square-foot facility in the south part of Grand Forks that will have space for 15 primary care and specialty care providers. It is slated for opening in spring 2021. Sanford has operated clinics in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, for over two decades. Headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the organization includes 44 hospitals, 1,400 physicians and more than 200 Good Samaritan Society senior care locations in 26 states and nine countries.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n BELCOURT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The FBI is investigating after police fatally shot a man on a North Dakota Indian reservation over the weekend. The FBI responded to the shooting at a private home in Belcourt on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation late Saturday night and into early Sunday. The man who was killed is identified as 35-year-old Brandon Laducer of Belcourt. Agencies involved in the shooting include the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Rolette County Sheriff’s Office, the Rolette Police Department and the Rolla Police Department. The FBI is investigating the circumstances of the shooting. No other details were released.<\/p>\n KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) \u2014 Police say two people have died and one person was injured as shots were fired during the third night of unrest in Wisconsin following the shooting of a Black man by police. Kenosha police Lt. Joseph Nosalik says that the shooting was reported at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in an area where protests took place. The wounded person had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He gave no other details.
