Community patriots, military, and first responders are especially invited to attend this Patriots Day event, and families are very welcome.<\/p>\n
The walk begins at 5:30-p.m., at Zonta Park, with a short presentation and will end at the All Vets Club with a light meal for participants with a free will offering.<\/p>\n
Please observe social distancing guidelines, and masks are suggested but not required.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The James River Humane Society is not been able to hold fundraisers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is welcoming monetary donations.<\/p>\n
On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers show on CSi Cable 2 Vice President Jay Nitschke said those wishing to support the shelter can send donations to:<\/p>\n

On another topic, Jay said Jamestown car dealerships are collecting items for the animals during a friendly competition through the end of September.<\/p>\n
She said the shelter currently has 15 cats available for adoption, all but three are kittens.<\/p>\n
They have a number of dogs available for adoption as well.\u00a0 She said \u00a0\u201cPaisley,\u201d\u00a0 a recent shelter dog has been sent to a foster\/rescue organization for behavior issues training, and will be sent back to the shelter, after training.\u00a0\u00a0 She said the dog \u201cJace,\u201d has been adopted after similar training.<\/p>\n
Jay added that the shelter is performing routine maintenance and fixing the dog pens.<\/p>\n
