{"id":208482,"date":"2020-09-21T10:00:34","date_gmt":"2020-09-21T15:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=208482"},"modified":"2020-09-22T09:35:08","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T14:35:08","slug":"arlene-schlecht-sept-18-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=208482","title":{"rendered":"Arlene Schlecht &#8211; Sept. 18, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"parallax\">\n<div class=\"contain\">\n<article class=\"obituary\">\n<section id=\"obit-text\" class=\"obit-text text-fade\">Arlene Schlecht 86, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away on Friday, September 18<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020 at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown.<\/p>\n<p>Arlene was born to Jacob and Mathilda (Mueller) Hofmann on July 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 1934.\u00a0 She graduated from Medina Public High School.\u00a0 On December 30<sup>th<\/sup>, 1953, Arlene married Alvin Schlecht.\u00a0 Alvin and Arlene operated a grain and dairy farm southeast of Medina.\u00a0 In 2012 they retired and moved to Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Arlene\u2019s pastimes were gardening, biking, walking and reading.\u00a0 She enjoyed cooking for groups at the Crystal Springs Bible Camp for several years.\u00a0 Arlene was actively involved in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher and ladies aid.\u00a0 She was also active in the local Homemakers Club.<\/p>\n<p>Arlene is survived by her children, sons Bruce (Cynthia), Medina; Daniel (Kerrie), Bismarck and David, Scottsdale, AZ; her daughters Roselyn (Keith)Huber and Tami (Dave)Hanson, Valley City.\u00a0 Grandchildren Tyrel Schlecht, Cedrick (Kari)Schlecht, Austin Schlecht, Emma Schlecht, Whitney (David)Franz, CeAnn (Jacob)Thompson, Devin (Marissa)Hanson, Christian Hanson.\u00a0 Great-Grandchildren Angela Schlecht, Derek Franz, Katie Franz, Tyler Franz, Cohen Thompson, Crosby Thompson and Felix Hanson.\u00a0 One brother Don (Lillian)Hofmann and three sisters-in-law Lois (Richard), Jackie (Eugene) and Bari (Edwin).\u00a0 Many cousins, nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, sister Vera (Elmer)Heupel and brothers Albert (Margaret), Wilbert (Nyra), Ervin (Jewel), Richard, Edwin, Ray and Eugene.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26th, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Medina, ND.\u00a0 Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service.\u00a0 Burial will be in the Medina Cemetery.\u00a0 Covid guidelines will be followed.\u00a0 Masks will be required.<\/p>\n<p>Online guest book: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eddyfuneralhome.com\/\">www.eddyfuneralhome.com<\/a>.\u00a0 A recording of the service will be available on the Eddy Funeral Home website.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arlene Schlecht 86, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away on Friday, September 18th, 2020 at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown.
