The event includes education about cancer and urology care at JRMC. Learn more at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jrmcnd.com\/giving\">www.jrmcnd.com\/giving<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Breast and prostate cancer remain the highest occurring cancers in North Dakota, according to North Dakota\u2019s cancer registry.<\/p>\n<p>In partnership with Brockopp Brewing, the JRMC Foundation will have an educational Zoom to share information about early detection and cancer treatment options. Speakers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Christopher Cost, JRMC Urologist<\/li>\n<li>Jeff Wiisanen, Oncologist, Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center &amp; JRMC Cancer Center<\/li>\n<li>Jason Schaffer, JRMC Radiology (3D Mammography &amp; No Excuses)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nichole Brockop says, \u201cOne of our goals as small business owners is to support other small businesses and organizations that help others,\u201d\u00a0 Brockopp and her husband, Scott, own Brockopp Brewing.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 she adds, \u201cThat is a vision we have had since the talking stages of opening the brewery. We are excited to host this event to raise cancer awareness and share local options for care and treatments our community and surrounding areas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additional Valley City event sponsors include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alley Beans &amp; Roasterie is featuring a unique \u201cpink drink\u201d for October.<\/li>\n<li>Wild Prairie Bakery has a \u201cpink donut\u201d for October.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>JRMC Foundation Director Lisa Jackson, \u201cEliminating travel for care is important,\u201d said . \u201cSince it opened, the JRMC Cancer Center saved patients more than 244,000 miles. We are here from you. This happy hour allows you to \u2018virtually\u2019 meet our providers and ask questions about care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All registered attendees will receive a chance to win a fun October-themed door prize.<\/p>\n<p>To help care for patients, Brockopp Brewing is also featuring a \u201cRazbooby Squeeze\u201d sour beer. A portion of sales benefits the JRMC Cancer Center.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson adds, \u201cWe are grateful to Brockopp Brewing and other local businesses helping JRMC care for its patients.\u00a0 We hope people can attend to learn more about services close to home and to support a worthy cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because we know how important it is to have care close to home, JRMC also has a specialty clinic in Valley City.
