(AP\u00a0Jun 14, 2013) &#8211; Dakotas-based Sanford Health says it will begin its Bismarck-based air ambulance service on Monday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sanford says its AirMed helicopter will provide medical transport to critically ill or injured patients throughout central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Bismarck base includes a helicopter and a team of flight paramedics, flight nurses, pilots and mechanics. A flight paramedic, flight nurse and pilot will be on duty every day at all hours.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Company executives, first responders and community leaders launched the service Friday with a dedication ceremony at Century High School.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Emergency physician Kadon Hintz says time is crucial in emergency and trauma situations, and the helicopter will help doctors provide quick care in locations where it&#8217;s difficult for ambulances to travel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BISMARCK, N.D.
