{"id":211346,"date":"2020-10-30T15:14:22","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T20:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=211346"},"modified":"2020-10-30T15:42:08","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T20:42:08","slug":"jmst-issues-emergency-order-including-face-coverings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=211346","title":{"rendered":"Jamestown Emergency Order for masks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"primary col-sm-12 col-md-8\">\n<article id=\"wpb-content-first\" class=\"entry post-242515 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-covid-19 category-news with-thumbnail\">\n<div class=\"article-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"entry-content-block\">\n<div class=\"entry-summary\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/HeinrichMayor-wearingMask.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-211507 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/HeinrichMayor-wearingMask-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Effective Friday, October 30, 2020, the City of Jamestown will implement an <a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/MayorOnWBS102920.mp3\"><strong>Emergency Order necessary to protect both individuals and businesses due to COVID-19.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mayor Dwaine Heinrich states \u201cdue to the increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases being reported in Jamestown, additional safety measures are being enacted in order to protect the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Safety Measures include:<\/p>\n<p><em>1. <strong>Face coverings are required <\/strong>for all public facing retail and service employees, including liquor and eating establishments, while employees may come in contact with the general public. Additionally, all businesses are urged to require face coverings of the general public when entering the establishment<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>2. The City is requiring that for <strong>any gathering or 50 or more people that a plan be submitted to the City<\/strong> that details how the event will keep the public safe.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Be Safe.\u00a0 Wear your mask when in public places.\u00a0 \u00a0Wash hands frequently.\u00a0 Use hand sanitizer.\u00a0 Observe social distance.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This plan will need to include the contact name, email address, and\/or text number of the organizer, location of the event, and the details, including a diagram or narrative on how the event will be set up in a safe manner, and the number of people expected to attend the event. The event organizer should indicate that they have reviewed the ND Smart Restart Large Group Gatherings information at:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/ndresponse gov\u2019sites\/www.ntes documents\/covid. 19\/ND% 20Smart 2ORestart\/arge Gatherngs\/SmartRestart Gatherings.pdf\">https:\/ndresponse gov\u2019sites\/www.ntes documents\/covid. 19\/ND% 20Smart 2ORestart\/arge Gatherngs\/SmartRestart Gatherings.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Event organizers will be asked to keep track of the attendance at the gathering so attendees can be notified if a positive case is found to have attended the event of purposes of contact tracing later. This plan should be submitted to give sufficient time for at least a 48 hour review. The plan will automatically approve unless denied within 48 hours of submission of the plan.<\/p>\n<p>A large group gathering is any public or private event bringing people together in a room or confined space (whether indoor or outdoor) at the same time.\u00a0 This does not include religious services, including weddings and funerals, but does include wedding receptions\u00a0 and funeral receptions.\u00a0 This excludes K-12 school activities and sporting events as those events are governed by North Dakota High School Activity Association guidelines. Also excluded are University of Jamestown activities and sporting events<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Heinrich states: \u201cWe hope that these measures will help control the spread of COVID-19 in our community and mean to encourage residents to accept personal responsibility to protect our fellow Jamestown residents.\u201d Mayor Heinrich also states. \u201cStronger measures, including business closures, could be enacted if we don\u2019t do our part to stop the spread.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 14-day positivity rate in the community is increasing. Stutsman County saw a high rate of positivity at 6.4% in prior weeks, but soon decreased to 1.3% and is now going back up.
