(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/article\/3873\">VCSU)<\/a> \u2013 The Valley City State women&#8217;s basketball team closed out play at the Dakota Clash Classic Saturday as they fell to Dakota State, 94-52.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"rosterLink0\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/2\/3314\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/2\/3314\" data-original-title=\"\">Macey Kvilvang<\/a>&#8216;s 17 points weren&#8217;t enough to battle the Trojans, who had six players score in double figures. Dakota State converted 29 points off of 29 Viking turnovers Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City State falls to 1-1 this season. Dakota State improves to 6-3 overall.<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings held a 6-5 lead early in the first quarter when the Trojans scored the next 15 straight points. Dakota State continued to build on their lead throughout the first half, holding the 45-25 advantage at halftime.<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings couldn&#8217;t come back as they were held to just 11 points in the third quarter and fell to the Trojans 94-52.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"rosterLink1\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/2\/3308\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/2\/3308\" data-original-title=\"\">Allie Critchley<\/a> tallied seven points, six rebounds, and three steals for the Vikings. <a id=\"rosterLink2\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/2\/3312\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/2\/3312\" data-original-title=\"\">Adriana Torres<\/a> scored six points and pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City State shot 29 percent from the field (19-66), 20 percent from the three-point line (2-10), and 70 percent on free throws (12-17). Dakota State shot 54 percent from the field (37-69), 36 percent on three-pointers (9-25), and 50 percent on free throws (11-22). The Trojans also tallied 26 assists, 16 steals, and five blocked shots Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UP NEXT:<\/strong> Valley City State travels to the Carroll Thanksgiving Classic to play a pair of games next weekend. The Vikings will take on Montana Technological University on Friday, Nov. 27, and then face Carroll College on Saturday, Nov. 28.<\/p>\n<p>Men&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Exhibition<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/SIDHelp\/fullBoxScores\/48\/1\/4416\">VCSU <\/a>100 Baptist Bible 76<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-body\">\n<p>FOREST CITY, IOWA \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/article\/3874\">(VCSU<\/a>) The Valley City State men&#8217;s basketball extended its winning streak to six games on Saturday, making 18 3&#8217;s en route to a 100-76 win over Baptist Bible College.<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings made 11 first-half 3-pointers, taking control early on Saturday as they opened up a 52-31 lead at the break. Baptist Bible College would get no closer than 17 points in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City State is now 6-1 overall this season, winning its last six games. The Vikings went 2-0 this weekend at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites Classic, hosted by Waldorf University.<\/p>\n<p>VCSU forced 22 turnovers on Saturday \u2013 leading to 26 points \u2013 and Viking junior <a id=\"rosterLink0\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3297\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3297\" data-original-title=\"\">Chris Thompson<\/a> set a new school record with nine steals. The Vikings also had a season-high 26 assists on 32 made shots.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was really proud of our team today,&#8221; said VCSU head coach <a id=\"rosterLink1\" class=\"rosterProfileLink rosterCoachProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3289\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3289\" data-original-title=\"\">Ryan Montgomery<\/a>. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t play clean yesterday and we responded versus a good Baptist Bible squad. We controlled the tempo and created a lot of chaos on the defensive end. Most importantly we had 26 assists today, showing we have an unselfish and bought-in group.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Vikings shot 43 percent overall (32-74), 43 percent on 3&#8217;s (18-42) and 75 percent at the line (18-24). VCSU was 11-for-24 on first-half 3-pointers to open up a 21-point halftime lead.<\/p>\n<p>Baptist Bible College shot 43 percent from the field (26-61), 33 percent on 3&#8217;s and 65 percent at the line (15-23).<\/p>\n<p>Ten different Vikings scored in Saturday&#8217;s win, including four players in double figures and seven players with at least eight points. <a id=\"rosterLink2\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3297\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3297\" data-original-title=\"\">Chris Thompson<\/a> and <a id=\"rosterLink3\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3303\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3303\" data-original-title=\"\">Kevin Schramm<\/a> both poured in 17 points to lead the way for VCSU. Schramm made it a double-double with 12 rebounds on the day, while Thompson recorded a school-record nine steals.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"rosterLink4\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3685\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3685\" data-original-title=\"\">Eddie Oyet<\/a> scored 16 off the bench, reaching double figures for the fifth straight game. <a id=\"rosterLink5\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3296\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3296\" data-original-title=\"\">Jalen Addison<\/a> added 12 points for the Vikings. Eight different players made 3-pointers for the Vikings, including three each by Thompson, Oyet and Schramm.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"rosterLink6\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3684\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3684\" data-original-title=\"\">Joshua Kelly<\/a> tallied nine assists for VCSU and <a id=\"rosterLink7\" class=\"rosterProfileLink \" title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vcsuvikings.com\/roster\/48\/1\/3404\" data-url=\"\/SIDHelp\/briefBio\/48\/1\/3404\" data-original-title=\"\">Tate Hebrink<\/a> added five assists off the bench.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle Cavanaugh scored 18 points to lead Baptist Bible College, which defeated host Waldorf University on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Up next: <\/strong>Valley City State hosts Oak Hills Christian College on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
