(AP) North Dakota has tens of thousands of COVID-19 antibody tests that still await a plan for their use, months after the state acquired them. The state acquired 178,000 COVID-19 antibody tests last spring using $3.68 million from the federal CARES Act coronavirus aid. The Bismarck Tribune reports that only about 8,000 have actually been used. The state said there were 317 people hospitalized on Saturday, an increase of eight. (NDHP) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports,\u00a0 a 19 year old Lidgerwood man was injured Saturday in a crash about 8:35-p.m. westbound on Highway 11 about three miles east of Cayuga.<\/p>\n
Broden Frolek was operating his 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix when\u00a0 the car left the roadway entering the north ditch, then struck an approach and began to roll. The Pontiac came to rest in a slough on its top.<\/p>\n
Frolek was located several hours after the crash, around 11:55-pm, a short distance from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Frolek sustained several injuries from the crash and was taken by air med to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. His condition has not been released. The cause of the crash is still under investigation with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 North Dakota\u2019s 13 state parks have hit record camping numbers during the coronavirus pandemic. The state\u2019s Parks and Recreation Department reported a 35% increase in campsite nights from May 1-Oct. 31 compared to the same period in 2019. Camping boomed exponentially in September and October over 2019. Annual park pass sales were up 18% this year from 2019. Parks and Recreation Director Andrea Travnicek says people want to take advantage of the open spaces during the pandemic.<\/p>\n
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Plans to light North Dakota\u2019s state Christmas tree have been altered this year to accommodate the coronavirus pandemic. Gov. Doug Burgum and his wife, Kathryn Burgum, plan to light the tree virtually on Tuesday evening with a livestream on Facebook. The governor\u2019s office says this year\u2019s Christmas tree theme is \u201ccreating connections,\u201d a reminder to stay socially connected this holiday season through a video chat, phone call or staying physically distanced. State health officials on Sunday reported a total of 725 positive tests in the last day. Five more people died, increasing the total number of deaths in North Dakota to 920.<\/p>\n

Carroll added 18 points off of 19 Viking turnovers and scored 42 points in the paint.<\/p>\n The Saints were hot from the start, scoring the first eight points and holding the Vikings to just four points in the first quarter. The Vikings couldn\u2019t find their rhythm as the Saints had their biggest quarter of the game with 26 points in the second quarter and held a 44-13 advantage at the half.<\/p>\n The two were closely matched in the third quarter as the Vikings put up seven points and held the Saints to just nine points in the quarter. The Vikings inched closer in the second quarter, with Emma Nielsen<\/a> hitting a three-pointer to trail 32-18 with 4:16 on the clock. Then after a Skylight missed shot, Adriana Torres<\/a> pulled down the defensive rebound and took it all the way back for a layup, closing the gap to 12 points. That\u2019s according to a person with direct knowledge of the discipline who also tells The Associated Press that the Patriots have been fined $350,000 for similar violations.<\/p>\n The person says New Orleans was fined as a repeat offender. The Saints are expected to appeal the discipline, which ESPN first reported Sunday morning.<\/p>\n In other NFL news:<\/p>\n \u2014 The Ravens have 20 players on the COVID-19 list, the worst outbreak on any team this season. (AP) \u2014 President-elect Joe Biden will have an all-female communications team at his White House, led by campaign communications director Kate Bedingfield. Bedingfield will serve as Biden\u2019s White House communications director, and Jen Psaki, a longtime Democratic spokeswoman, will be his press secretary. The choices reflect Biden’s stated desire to build out a diverse White House team as well as what\u2019s expected to be a return to a more traditional press operation. Meanwhile, The Associated Press has learned that Biden also plans to name the president and CEO of the Center for American Progress, Neera Tanden, as director of the Office of Management and Budget.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n President-elect Joe Biden is expected in the coming days to name several of his most senior economic advisers. The group includes liberal economists and policy specialists who established their credentials during the previous two Democratic administrations. Ding, ding, ding: Merriam-Webster on Monday announced \u201cpandemic\u201d as its 2020 word of the year. Merriam-Webster’s editor at large, Peter Sokolowski, tells The Associated Press ahead of Monday’s announcement that pandemic rose to the top in March.
