Bower, 104, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Kinder Care Assisted Living, Fargo, ND.Mae was born May 28, 1916 in Max, ND, one of 13 children born to William and Katherine (Spaeth) Thome.\u00a0 She worked at Woolworths, J.C. Penney\u2019s, and evenings at the 20 Club in Jamestown, where she met Lou Bower.\u00a0 They were married in 1962 and farmed near Kensal, ND where she found her calling to be a farm-wife.\u00a0 Mae loved gardening, especially her flowers, peonies, and her favorite begonias.\u00a0 She liked to sew, especially baby blankets for her grandchildren. Knitting and crocheting kept her hands busy as she and Lou watched the Minnesota Twins during many evenings.<\/p>\n<p>Mae and Lou like to fish, making trips to Jan Lake in Canada in mid-June for 18 years.\u00a0 Among her many hobbies was ceramics.\u00a0 She even had her own kiln.<\/p>\n<p>Mae was most comfortable in the kitchen.\u00a0 Carmel rolls were Louis\u2019 favorite, always needing a second one.\u00a0 She was a traditional housekeeper, cleaning every week whether it needed it or not and ironing kitchen towels and pillow cases.\u00a0 Sunday dinners were so special to Mae.\u00a0 Guests would enjoy her meals and play cards after she cleared the table.\u00a0 Most would leave with a \u201ccare package.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mae and Lou spent 30 winters in Arizona enjoying the company of friends from all over the country.\u00a0 When Lou passed away in 2010, she moved to an assisted living apartment in Fargo, close to her daughter, Billiette.\u00a0 Dementia gradually took over her life and was blessed with a family of caregivers in her final years.\u00a0 Her timid demeanor and quick humor will be surly missed.\u00a0 \u201cLove You to the Moon!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mae is survived by daughter, Shirley Pearson; daughter, Billiette Lund; son, Larry Ross; and grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lou Bower; son, Donald Ross; grandson, Kevin Lund; great-granddaughter, Amanda Egger; and several brothers and sisters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral Service:<\/strong> 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, with Father Sean Mulligan officiating.\u00a0 You may watch a Livestream of the service by clicking the following link: (Available 5 minutes before the service begins)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visitation: <\/strong>One hour before the funeral.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burial:<\/strong> Kensal Cemetery, Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mae K.
