The \u00a0Ford stayed on the roadway. The 69 year old male driver of the Jeep, Alan Peterson<\/strong>, from Foreman, was removed from the Jeep by a witness on scene prior to it catching fire. The 45 year old female Thunderbird driver,\u00a0Kandyce Blumhagen<\/strong> from Moorhead, MN was removed and transported to Sanford Health in Fargo, with serious injuries. The Jeep driver was transported to Essentia Health in Fargo. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n Assisting at the scene were the County Sheriff, Richland County Sheriff, and Kindred Fire and Ambulance<\/p>\n NDHP\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, an NDDOT snowplow truck pulling a plow trailer was pre-treating the roads for icy conditions traveling southbound on I-29 from MM 172, around 12:29-p.m., Wednesday. The plow truck had emergency lights activated and was laying the pre-treat liquid on the road when it was struck from behind by a Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda suffered fatal injuries from the crash and was taken to Unity Hospital. The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.<\/p>\n MINOT, N.D. (AP) \u2014 A North Central District Court judge has denied a defense request to lower bond for a Minot man charged with fatally shooting his wife. Erik Rod\u2019s attorney told Judge Gary Lee during Wednesday\u2019s court proceeding that the shooting was an accident and it was not \u201cpremeditated\u201d or \u201cdone in cold blood.\u201d The prosecution has argued that the shooting was not accidental. Connie Rod died at the hospital days after the May 21 shooting. Erik Rod was arrested in August and charged with felony murder and felony reckless endangerment in his wife\u2019s death. He’s being held on $250,000 bond at the Ward County Jail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n (AP) Performing an abortion in North Dakota would amount to murder and come with a life prison sentence under a bill proposed by a far-right Republican lawmaker who is a Lutheran pastor. Rep. Jeff Hoverson\u2019s bill, which is co-sponsored by some of the Legislature’s other most anti-abortion members, also would make it a felony punishable by up to five years in prison to help women get abortions, including by giving them rides to abortion clinics. The bill doesn\u2019t have the support of Republican leaders, so it\u2019s unlikely to pass and would surely face a legal challenge even if it did. (AP) \u2014 A North Dakota bar owner who says the state drove him out of business with COVID-19 restrictions is soliciting funds to file a federal civil rights complaint. David Corum, who ran Gunslingers Bar in Willow City, has been contacting bar owners about hosting fundraisers to mount a challenge against executive orders that hurt businesses. The Minot Daily News reports that Northeast District Judge Anthony Benson ruled last week that Corum violated Gov. Doug Burgum\u2019s March 19 executive order that kept customers out of bars and restaurants due to COVID-19. (AP) \u2014 Police in Bismarck are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck while crossing a street.
