{"id":220141,"date":"2021-02-26T15:24:23","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T21:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=220141"},"modified":"2021-02-26T15:24:52","modified_gmt":"2021-02-26T21:24:52","slug":"cooperstown-business-award-loan-water-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=220141","title":{"rendered":"Cooperstown business awarded loan, water project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 \u2013 The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality awarded loans for water projects to two communities and a water district through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Program in January and February.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cooperstown<\/strong> received an $800,000 DWSRF loan to replace eight blocks of asbestos cement water main that reached the end of its service life and resulted in numerous water main breaks. This project will ensure reliable water service to residents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lakota <\/strong>received a $313,000 DWSRF loan to replace a 10\u201d transmission line from the water treatment plant to the distribution system after a sudden failure in 2020. This project will restore an adequate quantity of water to the system.<\/li>\n<li><strong>North Prairie Regional Water District <\/strong>received a $3,825,000 DWSRF loan to construct 18 miles of transmission line, a new booster station, rehabilitate an existing booster station, and construct approximately 160 miles of water main line serving approximately 140 new users. The project will provide a more reliable source of quality water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency provides part of the DWSRF Program\u2019s funding, which offers below-market interest rate loans to political subdivisions for financing projects authorized under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
