{"id":223348,"date":"2021-04-13T15:14:24","date_gmt":"2021-04-13T20:14:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=223348"},"modified":"2021-04-16T09:01:00","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T14:01:00","slug":"charlotte-mckay-apr-12-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=223348","title":{"rendered":"Charlotte McKay &#8211; Monday, April 12, 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"obit-primary\">\n<article class=\"obituary\">\n<section id=\"obit-text\" class=\"obit-text text-fade\">Charlotte McKay, age 82, of Valley City, ND, died Monday, April 12<sup>th<\/sup> at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.\u00a0<\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section class=\"obit-text text-fade\">A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 16<sup>th<\/sup> at Epworth United Methodist Church in Valley City.\u00a0 The service will be livestreamed on Friday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lerudschuldt.com\/\">www.lerudschuldt.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Due to COVID-19, social distancing is suggested and wearing of masks is encouraged.\u00a0 Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15<sup>th<\/sup> from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Epworth United Methodist Church.\u00a0 Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.<\/section>\n<section><\/section>\n<section class=\"obit-text text-fade\">Charlotte Roberta Winter, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Haney) Winter, was born August 9, 1938 in Cannonball, ND.\u00a0 In 1945, Charlotte and her family moved to Getchell Prairie Township of Barnes County where her father farmed and Charlotte grew up.\u00a0 She attended and graduated from Noltimier High School in 1956.\u00a0 After her graduation, she attended Valley City State Teachers College where she received her elementary teaching certificate.\u00a0 Charlotte then began teaching elementary grades in Jesse, ND.\u00a0 On May 31, 1958, she married Russell McKay in Valley City where the couple farmed and raised their three children, William, Bruce and Michael.\u00a0 In 1982, she graduated from Valley City State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree.\u00a0 Charlotte was a care giver to numerous families in and around the Valley City area and also was companion to many with the Open Door Center.\u00a0 Charlotte was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the women\u2019s circle and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years.\u00a0 Charlotte was also a member of the Business and Professional Women and the Grand Prairie Homemakers Club. Charlotte led by an example of how to be a wonderful mother.
