\"\"Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Police investigated a two vehicle crash about 1:30-p.m. at the intersection of 20th Street and Highway 281.<\/p>\n

Reports from the scene say two pickup trucks were involved.<\/p>\n

The intersection was blocked by the trucks, and traffic was rerouted away from the scene until the wreckage was cleared.<\/p>\n

Two Jamestown Ambulance Service units were on the scene.<\/p>\n

No immediate word on injuries.<\/p>\n

\"\"Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Gov. Doug Burgum Monday joined ADM in announcing plans<\/a> to build North Dakota\u2019s first dedicated soybean crushing plant and refinery in Spiritwood, N.D. The $350 million crush and refining complex will create 70 permanent jobs and have the capacity to process up to 150,000 bushels of soybeans per day. It\u2019s expected to be completed prior to the 2023 harvest, according to ADM.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Burgum says, \u201cThis soybean processing plant is a gamechanger for North Dakota farmers, adding value and expanding the market for this important crop closer to home while also supporting the production of products such as renewable green diesel right here in North Dakota.\u00a0 Now, with innovative leader ADM and collaboration with local economic development and multiple state agencies, this exciting value-added project has come to fruition. We\u2019re deeply grateful for ADM\u2019s investment in our state and our highly productive farmers as well as the tireless efforts of so many who helped make this happen, including the Office of State Tax Commissioner, the Jamestown\/Stutsman County Development Corp., North Dakota Department of Commerce, North Dakota Department of Agriculture, Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford, the state Legislature, and our entire congressional delegation.\u201d<\/p>\n

North Dakota was ranked ninth in the nation in soybean production in 2020, producing over 190 million bushels of soybeans, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Cass County was the nation\u2019s top soybean producing county as recently as 2018, and Stutsman, Richland and Barnes also have ranked in the top 20 soybean-producing counties in recent years.<\/p>\n

On Monday the Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) discussed a proposal for incentives following the firm commitment of ADM.<\/p>\n

Senator John Hoeven says,<\/a> the plans include redeveloping the former Cargill Malting plant for use in processing soybeans into oil and meal.<\/p>\n

The initial announcement does not include a construction start date but anticipates completion in 2023.<\/p>\n

He says, \u201cWe\u2019re pleased that this new plant will be open in 2023, as it will provide a significant new market for North Dakota soybean growers, while creating good jobs and economic growth.\u00a0 We appreciate the work of ADM, as well as the governor, the other members of the delegation and the Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corporation for their efforts on this exciting new opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n
