{"id":229300,"date":"2021-07-06T10:16:32","date_gmt":"2021-07-06T15:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=229300"},"modified":"2021-07-06T10:35:15","modified_gmt":"2021-07-06T15:35:15","slug":"preliminary-city-budget-includes-salary-step-increases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=229300","title":{"rendered":"Preliminary City budget includes salary increases"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_153883\" style=\"width: 265px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-153883\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-153883\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Heinrich3-255x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"255\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Heinrich3-255x300.jpg 255w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Heinrich3-768x904.jpg 768w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Heinrich3-149x175.jpg 149w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Heinrich3.jpg 816w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 255px) 100vw, 255px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-153883\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dwaine Heinrich<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich says, the City Council continues with budget planning for the 2022 Calendar Year Budget.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 he said, with the General Fund, the consensus reached for 2022, is to approve in the Preliminary Budget a three percent salary increase for city employees and step increase raises.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the General Fund increases are to include equipment purchases of about $241,000. with includes dollars set aside\u00a0 for the major purchase of a bucket truck for the Street Department.\u00a0 The Mayor pointed out that there will be a transfer\u00a0 to the Building Site Fund, for continued funding for the City Fire Hall roof replacement.<\/p>\n<p>He said exact figures are not yet available for state funding, but are estimated at between $1.5 and 2-million.<\/p>\n<p>He said the city\u2019s Reserve Fund looks to be in good shape, at $3-million, as a percentage of moneys\u00a0 that need to be in reserves for unseen expenditures.<\/p>\n<p>More city budget meetings are planned, and the information on the preliminary budget taken this month\u2019s Finance &amp; Legal Committee meeting on July 20, for consideration, with approval at the August 2 City Council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The preliminary budget can be adjusted downward but not increase.<\/p>\n<p>In October the final budget will be approved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich says, the City Council continues with budget planning for the 2022 Calendar Year Budget.
