deep with a 10,000-foot ceiling north of our airport.\u00a0Recently Aerobatic Competency Examiners, \u201cACE Pilots\u201d, from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) were here to certify aerobatic performance these pilots can perform. \u00a0Specific performances are certified for this year\u2019s air shows around the country.\u00a0The two planes we see are the only ones in the nation, at this point, having jet engines in addition to the prop engines.\u00a0We are of the very few who can see such planes and performances from our own homes.\u00a0Enjoy them.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you folks have seen the wonderful projects our Beautification Committee has been doing around town.\u00a0Thank you to all who have contributed to further beautifying Valley City.\u00a0There are opportunities for you to help too; The Ellendale grant will be used to replace sewer pipe and manholes for the city of Ellendale. The current infrastructure is aging and large rains can cause the master lift station to become overloaded and back up onto the streets. Multiple residents have reported sewer backups in their homes.<\/p>\n<p>Senator John \u00a0Hoeven states: \u00a0\u201cToday\u2019s grants will help residents in Ellendale and Turtle Mountain access clean, safe and reliable water by improving and updating infrastructure,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be through the USDA\u2019s Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program. (AP) \u2014 The Mandan City Commission has agreed to equip the community\u2019s police force with body cameras. The commission approved the cameras unanimously Tuesday with no discussion. The police department received a quote from Digital-Ally, which already has cameras inside the police vehicles. The package of 28 body cameras, upgraded in-car cameras, accessories, set-up, training and cloud storage would cost about $165,000 for a five-year subscription. The Lincoln Police Department began using body cameras in early 2020. The Bismarck Police Department and the Burleigh County Sheriff\u2019s Department do not use the technology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINNEAPOLIS (AP) \u2014 The uncle of a teenager who recorded the last moments of George Floyd\u2019s life in a video that helped launch a global protest movement against racial injustice has died in a crash involving a Minneapolis police car. Darnella Frazier said in a Facebook post that Leneal Lamont Frazier died early Tuesday after his vehicle was struck by the squad car that police said was pursuing another driver linked to several robberies. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner verified Leneal Frazier\u2019s death Wednesday, listing the cause as \u201cmultiple blunt force injuries.\u201d Frazier was not involved in the pursuit. His niece questioned why police were involved in a high-speed chase on a residential road.
