MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) \u2014 Authorities say a man accused of shooting and killing a man in western North Dakota has been arrested. The 25-year-old suspect was found hiding in the stairwell of an apartment on the south side of Moorhead, Minnesota. He was taken into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered in the area. The man is wanted for a shooting Sunday in Killdeer, which is about 45 miles north of Dickinson. He is being held in the Clay County Jail awaiting extradition for charges in North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Moorhead, MN (KFGO) \u2013 Moorhead police are searching for a murder suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.<\/p>\n
25-year old Oscar Ortiz is wanted for a shooting death in Killdeer, North Dakota on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation contacted Moorhead Police early Tuesday morning regarding Ortiz. The BCI believes he was picked up in the area of the 3600 block of 8th Street South. Officers spotted Ortiz as he ran from the area. His vehicle was later found on Rivershore Drive.<\/p>\n
Despite a K9 track and the use of the Moorhead drone team, he has not been found. It\u2019s not known of Ortiz is still in the area or if he may have been picked up by someone else. A female friend was found and taken into custody.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s described as Hispanic, 5\u2032-5\u2033, 160 pounds wearing blue jeans and either a long sleeve blue t-shirt or no shirt.<\/p>\n
Property owners in the area are asked to check their surveillance equipment.<\/p>\n
