Sheriff&#8217;s Vehicle and car crash Thurs evening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mandan\u00a0 (NDDHP)\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol investigated a crash between a Morton County, Sheriff&#8217;s patrol unit and an SUV, Thursday, October 7, about 8:51-p.m. at the Memorial Bridge, on the west side of the bridge, in Mandan.<\/p>\n<p>The report says the\u00a0 2020 Ford Explorer Sheriff&#8217;s unit, operated by Deputy Damon Burkel of Mandan received minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>He was responding to a crash at the intersection of Memorial Highway and 46th Avenue SE in Mandan.\u00a0 He was traveling east in the left lane of Memorial Highway and slowed to make a U-turn at the intersection just west of the bridge.\u00a0 Before making the U-turn, Burkel deactivated\u00a0 his emergency lights.\u00a0 As he was making the turn, 18 year old\u00a0 Naida Valandra of Mandan driving a 2019 GMC Acadia\u00a0 struck the drivers side on Burkel&#8217;s vehicle.
