Jamestown\u00a0 (UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 No. 2 Northwestern (Iowa) College had seven of its first eight drives end in scores, taking a 63-7 victory over the University of Jamestown football team Saturday afternoon at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Raiders led 35-0 at the half while holding the Jimmies to only 17 total yards. UJ’s first six drives ended with a punt while the seventh came to a close as the clock ran out in the second quarter.<\/p>\n

NWC and Jamestown traded touchdowns in the third quarter. After falling behind 42-0 just 1:01 into the third, the Jimmies capped off a five-play, 66-yard drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Cade Torgerson<\/a> (JR\/Billings, Mont.) to Javon Bowie-Monteiro<\/a> (JR\/Sacramento, Calif.).<\/p>\n

In the fourth quarter, the Raiders had scoring drives of 78, 73, and 60 yards to make it 63-7.<\/p>\n

NWC finished with 774 yards of total offense, with 488 of them coming in the air. Jamestown finished with 152 yards, 130 of them passing.<\/p>\n

Torgerson finished 15-of-32 passing for 130 yards and was intercepted once. Micah Madyun<\/a> (FR\/Ramsey, Minn.) caught five passes for 39 yards while Bowie-Monteiro had two catches for 44 yards.<\/p>\n

Jordan Olson<\/a> (JR\/Prior Lake, Minn.) led the defense with nine total tackles, and Rashawn Benners<\/a> (FR\/Dayton, Ohio) finished with seven tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies finish their three-game homestand next Saturday, hosting Briar Cliff (Iowa) at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

PAPILLION, Neb.\u00a0\u00a0 (UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 —\u00a0<\/strong>The No. 10 Belleuve University men’s soccer team handed the University of Jamestown its third straight loss Saturday, winning 4-1.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies, now 5-7-2 this season, host Dordt (Iowa) University Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Bellevue took a 2-0 lead into halftime on goals by Toby Millward in the 36th minute and Ruben Bande in the 44th minute.<\/p>\n

Antonio Capra netted twice for the Bruins in the second half, a 60th minute goal to make it 3-0, and a 66th minute tally for a 4-0 lead.<\/p>\n

Max Gross<\/a> (SR\/Boeblingen, Germany) got Jamestown on the board in the 77th minute, scoring on a free kick from near the end line the curled inside the back post.<\/p>\n

Shots were 18-7 in favor of Bellevue, as were shots on goal (5-1).<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 The No. 1 University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team maintained its perfect record with a 3-0 sweep of Hastings (Neb.) College Saturday evening at Harold Newman Arena.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, now 23-0 overall and 12-0 in the GPAC, faces Valley City State (N.D.) University in a non-conference matchup on the road Monday.<\/p>\n

After the Broncos got within 7-5 in the first set, UJ took five of the next six points to build a 12-6 lead. Hastings would get as close as four points at 12-8, but a 7-3 run by the Jimmies doubled their lead.<\/p>\n

UJ outhit Hastings .304 to -.250 in set two, rattling off 11 straight points behind the serving of Jackie Meiklejohn<\/a> (SR\/Dickey, N.D.) after trailing 1-0. After a Bronco kill ended the Jimmie outburst, Jamestown came back with the next eight points for a 19-2 lead. The teams split the final 12 points of the set, but UJ still had a 2-0 match advantage.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies started set three with an 11-3 run, and did not allow Hastings to get any closer than seven points. The Broncos won back-to-back points just once in the third, while Jamestown had two separate four-point runs. UJ made only two attack errors while forcing the Broncos into nine errors and a -.028 attack percentage in the frame.<\/p>\n

Kalli Hegerle<\/a> (SR\/West Fargo, N.D.) had 11 kills and hit .550 for the match. Anna Holen<\/a> (SR\/LaMoure, N.D.) and Aleah Zieske<\/a> (FR\/Spicer, Minn.) both had seven kills.<\/p>\n

Meiklejohn passed out 22 assists, while Ellie Holen<\/a> (SO\/LaMoure, N.D.) recorded 14 digs. Anna Holen<\/a> added 11 digs and Jayla Ritter<\/a> (SR\/Forest Lake, Minn.) finished with three blocks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

(UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 The 13th-ranked University of Jamestown hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Midland (Neb.) University, winning 2-1 Saturday evening at Wilson Arena.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies will have an off-day Sunday before starting a two-game series at home Monday against third-ranked Liberty.<\/p>\n

Jake Huculak<\/a> (SO\/Jasper, Alberta)’s unassisted power play goal at 8:08 of the first gave Jamestown a 1-0 lead, then Bo Cornell<\/a> (SO\/Legal, Alberta)’s first collegiate goal at 15:19, assisted by Jason Richter<\/a> (SR\/Kimberly, British Columbia), made it 2-0 Jimmies.<\/p>\n

Midland scored a power play goal with 35 seconds left in the first as Wlliam Chun took a pass from Trevor Timm and beat UJ goaltender Tyson Brouwer<\/a> (SR\/Lethbridge, Alberta) to cut the Jamestown lead to one.<\/p>\n

Despite outshooting Midland 36-23 over the final forty minutes, the Jimmies were unable to add a third goal and held on for the one-goal victory.<\/p>\n

Brouwer finished with 33 saves. UJ was 1 of 4 on the power play while the Warriors were 1 of 3.<\/p>\n
