Box Score<\/a><\/p>\n (UJ<\/a>) \u00a0 Jackson Vercellono scored with 24 seconds left to give No. 3 Liberty (Va.) University a 2-1 win over the 13th-ranked University of Jamestown hockey team Tuesday night at Wilson Arena.<\/p>\n After a scoreless first period that saw the Jimmies narrowly outshoot the Flames 9-7, Andrew Clark<\/a> (SO\/Spokane, Wash.) gave UJ a 1-0 with a power play goal at 7:43 of the second. Aidan Potas<\/a> (JR\/Fargo, N.D.) and Reid Wilson<\/a> (SO\/Castlegar, British Columbia) got the assists on Clark’s third goal of the season.<\/p>\n The scoring attempts picked up in the second period as both teams combined for 37 shots, 21 of them coming from Jamestown. However, the Jimmies still held on to a 1-0 lead going into the third.<\/p>\n Liberty took advantage of an odd-man rush and Matthew Bartel found Jason Foltz, who tied the game at 3:53 of the third. Both teams continued to look for the go-ahead goal, but both goaltenders came up with some highlight-quality saves to preserve the deadlock.<\/p>\n Chaydan Lauber was credited with the assist on Vercellono’s go-ahead tally.<\/p>\n
