Winings, age 68, of Valley City, ND, passed away at his home under the care of CHI Hospice on October 20, 2021.\u00a0 A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church in Valley City.\u00a0 Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the Church on Monday.\u00a0\u00a0Interment will be in the Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, ND.<\/p>\n<p>Donald was\u00a0born September\u00a06,\u00a01953 to Howard and Evelyn Winings. \u00a0He attended school in Oriska and Arthur. \u00a0Donald married Rita Rath in 1976 and they made their home in Valley City. Donald worked as an over the road truck driver and mechanic. \u00a0For several years he worked for the Barnes County Highway Department retiring early due to health issues. \u00a0Donald loved to fish.\u00a0He shared many fun fishing trips with his friends and family.\u00a0 His favorite place to be\u00a0was\u00a0with his wife\u00a0and family. \u00a0He\u00a0was an extremely supportive\u00a0dad\u00a0and grandpa. \u00a0The last several\u00a0summers he spent with his grandson Carson.\u00a0\u00a0 They were always busy fixing up the boat and visiting.<\/p>\n<p>Donald is survived by his wife Rita Winings, daughter Vicki (Tim) Hass, son in law Jeff Falstad, sister Janine Winings(Mark Feist). Grandchildren:\u00a0Lexi (Cody) Wilson, Sarah (Matt) Miller, Carson, Carter, and Claire Hass. Great grandchildren Kayla and Madison Wilson and Axel Miller.<\/p>\n<p>Donald was preceded in death by his daughter Kristy Falstad, son Travis Winings, grandson Jordan Johnson, Brother Robin Winings and sister in law Cindy Rath.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald L.
