Jamestown\u00a0 (UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 Ian Amsbaugh scored 2:44 into overtime to give the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks a 4-3 win over the University of Jamestown hockey team Friday night at Wilson Arena.<\/p>\n Logan Berggren<\/a> (SO\/Cypress, Calif.) accounted for all three of Jamestown’s goals, giving him four for the season.<\/p>\n UJ led 1-0 at the 11:58 mark of the first, with Berggren scoring on assists from Reid Wilson<\/a> (SO\/Castlegar, British Columbia) and Cole Haukaas<\/a> (FR\/The Pas, Manitoba).<\/p>\n Berggren made it 2-0 just 64 seconds into the second period, with Aidan Potas<\/a> (JR\/Fargo, N.D.) and Wilson assisting. The Lumberjacks cut the lead in half as Zane McDonald scored at the 3:08 mark on an assist by Amsbaugh.<\/p>\n Berggren completed the hat trick with a power play goal at 5:46, with assists going to Jordon Kromm<\/a> (SO\/Calgary, Alberta) and Potas. The scoring flurry continued as DCB got a power play goal of their own from JJ Adams to make it 3-2 at 8:12. Ryan Patterson tied the game at 14:11, assisted by McDonald and Amsbaugh.<\/p>\n Jamestown outshot DCB 26-10 in the third period, but Lumberjack goaltender Jordan Berschiminsky stopped all 26 shots he faced. Women’s Volleyball<\/strong><\/p>\n SEWARD, Neb.\u00a0 (UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 —\u00a0<\/strong>The top-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team won its 25th straight match on Friday, taking care of Concordia University 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 in GPAC action.<\/p>\n Friday’s sweep was the 22nd in 25 matches for the Jimmies as they also improved to 13-0 in the conference.<\/p>\n The first set was close throughout, with neither team gaining more than a two-point advantage until Jamestown led 18-15, eventually making it 19-15. A Jimmie service error brought the Bulldogs within 21-19, but UJ closed out with the final four points to take the opener.<\/p>\n Concordia held leads of 12-9 and 13-11 in set two, only to make back-to-back attack errors to draw the Jimmies level. Corina Huff<\/a> (SR\/Pequot Lakes, Minn.) and Kalli Hegerle<\/a> (SR\/West Fargo, N.D.) posted kills to give UJ a 15-13 edge, and Jamestown gradually opened up a 19-15 lead. The Bulldogs rallied to 21-20, but four of the next five points went the way of the Jimmies for a 2-0 match lead.<\/p>\n Despite trailing two sets to none, Concordia continued to play UJ tough. The Jimmies led 11-7 but soon found themselves tied at 12, again at 17, one more time at 18, and finally 20-20. As in set two, Jamestown took four of the last five points, with Hegerle racking up three kills in the run, to secure the sweep.<\/p>\n Hegerle finished with 12 kills and Anna Holen<\/a> (SR\/LaMoure, N.D.) had 10. Huff hit a team-high .500 with nine kills and had five total blocks. Jackie Meiklejohn<\/a> (SR\/Dickey, N.D.) passed out\u00a022 assists, and Ellie Holen<\/a> (SO\/LaMoure, N.D.) had 22 digs.<\/p>\n Jamestown outhit Concordia .231 to .087 and had 11 blocks to the Bulldogs’ four.<\/p>\n UJ returns to action Saturday at No. 6 Midland (Neb.)
