Jamestown (City) Tuesday November 2, 2021; there is a road closure on Stadium Hill from the intersection of 9th Ave NE to 11th Avenue NE and from 3rd St NE to 4th St NE. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The vaccine\u2019s safety was studied in approximately 3,100 children ages 5 through 11 who received the vaccine and no serious side effects have been detected in the ongoing study.<\/p>\n The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for children 5 through 11 years of age is administered as a two-dose primary series, 3 weeks apart, but is a lower dose (10 micrograms) than that used for individuals 12 years of age and older (30 micrograms).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n CVHD Unit Administrator, Robin Iszler says, \u201cAdult COVID vaccine and child COVID vaccine are not interchangeable.\u201d The pediatric vaccine will be manufactured and packaged specifically for pediatrics.<\/p>\n To ensure safety and comfort of the children of our community, CVHD is hosting a special clinic for those who meet the qualifications for the child vaccine. CVHD is anticipating receiving approximately 200 pediatric Pfizer doses of COVID vaccine next week. Doses will be limited, and attendees must pre-register in order to receive the vaccine. This project will improve system reliability and increase water pressure for customers.<\/p>\n Hebron<\/strong> received a $120,000 Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) loan to replace aging water meters. This project will ensure accurate accounting of water for the residents.<\/p>\n Stanley<\/strong> received a $1,322,000 CWSRF loan and a $2,253,000 DWSRF loan towards replacement of aging water mains, manholes, sanitary sewer mains and services. This project will ensure the safe transmission of water and wastewater for the residents.<\/p>\n The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency provides part of the SRF Programs funding, which offers below-market interest rate loans to political subdivisions for financing projects authorized under the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act. (AP) \u2014 The Cass County sheriff has fired a deputy who was arrested for driving drunk and crashing his vehicle with his children inside. In a termination letter, Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner says Deputy Jacob Danielson violated several of his office\u2019s policies, including those which deal with standards of conduct and performance. Danielson pleaded guilty in court on Oct. 15 to a misdemeanor DUI charge and received 360 days of probation. The charge stems from an August arrest by police when Danielson was in a crash at Custom Express Car Wash in Fargo.<\/p>\n BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 State corrections officials say coronavirus cases involving inmates at the North Dakota State Penitentiary have soared to the highest number to date in the pandemic. North Dakota Department of Corrections officials say out of more than 525 inmates, active positives among inmates jumped from 17 last week to 63 this week. And active positives for staff jumped from 14 last week to 19 Monday. Corrections spokeswoman Kayli Richards says \u201cCOVID spread in a congregated setting is extremely difficult to avoid.\u201d The facility has exceeded its isolation space and is using the gym as an infirmary for COVID positive inmates.<\/p>\n BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Tuesday is the birthday for both Dakotas. President Benjamin Harrison signed papers admitting North Dakota and South Dakota as the 39th and 40th states in the union on Nov. 2, 1889. Legend says Harrison shuffled the statehood papers before signing them. The two states are now 132 years old. But Rittenhouse\u2019s attorney says his client acted in self-defense after one of the men dove for his gun and others kicked him in the face and clubbed him in the head with a skateboard. The two accounts came during opening statements Tuesday at Rittenhouse’s murder trial. Rittenhouse, now 18, is charged with killing two men and wounding a third with an assault-style rifle during the summer of 2020. He could get life in prison if convicted.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n MINNEAPOLIS (AP) \u2014 The judge who presided over the trial of Derek Chauvin has made public the names of jurors who convicted the former Minneapolis police officer of murder in the death of George Floyd. Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill also Monday released the names of alternates who watched the trial but did not deliberate, as well as questionnaires they filled out during jury selection. The release followed a request by The Associated Press and other news organizations to make the names public. Some jurors have spoken out since their verdict in April. According to police, Ruggs was driving a Chevrolet Corvette that crashed a little before 3:40 a.m. into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 on a busy thoroughfare several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. Police say the Toyota caught fire and the driver died. The 22-year-old Ruggs \u201cshowed signs of impairment,\u201d police said in a statement that said he will be charged with felony DUI resulting in death.
