Owen, Lt. Jr. Grade Test Pilot and World War II Veteran, turns 98 on November 11, 2021. Fargo Air Museum will be giving a Birthday shout out during the Veteran\u2019s Day Program.<br \/>\nOwen enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1943. He completed basic training in Pensacola, Florida and was assigned to the Naval Base in Kaneohe, Hawaii, where he was a test pilot. He was discharged in December 1945 at the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. His proudest moment was getting his \u201cwings,\u201d learning to navigate, and learning Morse Code.<br \/>\nThe Veteran\u2019s Day service is free admission with no registration required. Veterans Resources will be available.<br \/>\n&#8220;He (Owen) has always enjoyed attending the programs on his special day and is equally proud to sport his original uniform from his service in the Navy Air Corp. as a test pilot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Kathy Bestul, daughter to Delvin \u201cDel\u201d F. Owen<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Fargo Air Museum was founded with the nonprofit mission of promoting aviation throug education, preservation and restoration. Located on 19th Ave. N. just east of Interstate-29, the Fargo Air Museum is home to aircraft of all eras.
