VALLEY CITY\u00a0\u00a0 (VCSU<\/a>)\u00a0 \u2013 The Valley City State women’s basketball team posted a season-high 91 points to down Trinity Bible College Tuesday night in a 46-point home victory.<\/p>\n Five Vikings scored in double figures led by Hailey Roberts<\/a> who scored 19 points, including 14 in the first half. Adriana Torres<\/a> scored 18 points, Ashlyn Diemert<\/a> posted 17, Taryn Dieterle<\/a> scored 13 and Allie Critchley<\/a> chipped in 12.<\/p>\n Roberts added a team-best seven steals while Critchley dished out a team-high four assists Tuesday. Bayli Heap<\/a> grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds for the Vikings. The Vikings shot 52 percent from the field (36-69), 31 percent on 3-pointers (9-29) and 91 percent from the free throw line (10-11). The Lions shot 25 percent on field goals (13-53), 12 percent from 3-point range (2-17) and 81 percent on free throws (17-21).<\/p>\n Valley City State improves to 3-5 on the season and Trinity Bible falls to 1-3 overall.<\/p>\n Valley City State held the rebounding advantage 33-24 and scored 29 points on 31 Lion turnovers. VCSU totaled 17 steals and 17 assists as a team.<\/p>\n The Vikings shot 60 percent in the first half and led by as much as 22 points on a 3-pointer from Diemert. VCSU led 51-31 at halftime and held the Lions to just a pair of free throws in the fourth quarter to defeat\u00a0Trinity Bible\u00a091-45.<\/p>\n Stacia West posted a double-double for Trinity Bible with 15 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday. VCSU took a 56-39 advantage into the locker room and extended its lead to as many as 37 points in the second half.<\/p>\n The win is the fourth in a row for the Vikings, who are now 7-3 overall. Trinity Bible College drops to 3-6.<\/p>\n Uhana Ochan<\/a> was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field as he finished with 12 points and five rebounds, and Duoth Gach<\/a> had 11 points and four rebounds. Four other Vikings had at least six points in a balanced effort, which included six points and six assists from point guard Joshua Kelly<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Vikings totaled 23 assists in the game as they shot 40-for-77 overall (52 percent). VCSU was 12-for-38 on 3’s (32 percent) and went 3-for-4 on free throws. The Vikings also held a 45-28 rebounding advantage, included a 10-7 edge on the offensive glass.<\/p>\n Trinity Bible College shot 38 percent overall (27-71), 23 percent on 3’s (5-22) and 57 percent at the line (8-14). Austin Molan led the Lions with 16 points.<\/p>\n Up next:<\/strong> Valley City State (7-3) rematches with No. 10-ranked University of Jamestown on Saturday, Nov. 27, at Jamestown.
