Accumulating snow is becoming increasingly likely across northern
\nand central North Dakota Saturday morning through Sunday morning.
\nThe greatest chances for accumulating snow will be over areas north
\nof the I-94 corridor, though accumulating snow is possible just
\nsouth of this corridor as well. A narrow band of moderate to
\nheavy snow is expected to develop somewhere over northern or
\ncentral North Dakota Saturday and Saturday night. Some locations
\nwill likely receive 6 or more inches of snow, but the placement of
\nthe heaviest part of the band remains highly uncertain at this
\ntime. Additionally, gusty winds may cause blowing and drifting

Update\u2026<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown Rescue Squad was called to the scene of a rollover crash in Jamestown at 3:03 -p.m., on Thursday, at the intersection of First Avenue North and 4th<\/sup> Street Northeast, where a van and pickup crashed causing the van to rollover onto its side on First Avenue.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Fire Department Lt. Sheldon Mohr said when the rescue unit arrived the occupants of the van had gotten out of the overturned van.<\/p>\n

He said eight rescue squad personnel were on scene about eight minutes, while 12 were at the fire station on stand-by, but were not needed. on scene.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Police assisted at the scene, along with Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n

Police say several individuals were transported by ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.<\/p>\n

Surveillance camera footage shows a pickup entering the intersection\u00a0 attempting to cross 1st Avenue North,\u00a0 from 4th Street, striking the van on it\u2019s passenger side, causing it to tip on it\u2019s drivers side.<\/p>\n

In a statement Jamestown Police said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Police Department would like to thank the Jamestown Fire Department and the Jamestown Ambulance Service for their assistance with the victims.We would also like to thank the Jamestown Street Department and individuals from Total Clean and NAPA Auto Parts Store for their assistance in getting the accident scene cleaned up. It was a great effort by all involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"Valley City\u00a0 (Barnes SO)\u00a0 The Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office reports that on November 30, 2021 a Barnes County woman was sentenced to four years and six months to be served with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office news release goes on to say, that, according to court documents Gina Marie Aalgaard Kelly was found guilty on two counts of felony driving under the influence of an intoxicating liquor or any other drugs, one count of felony preventing arrest and one count of misdemeanor driving while license suspended.<\/p>\n

The sentencing stems from a citizen\u2019s complaint of an erratic driver that occurred on October 19th of this year.\u00a0 Gina Marie Aalgaard Kelly was stopped by Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies and Valley City Police Officers in the one hundred block of 12th Street NE in Valley City.\u00a0 After a short struggle Gina Marie Aalgaard Kelly was taken into custody and charged with DUI-alcohol and drugs-4th or subsequent offense in 15 years among other charges.<\/p>\n

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said this arrest occurred in an elementary school zone during school hours.\u00a0 Thankfully no children were hurt.<\/p>\n

Sheriff McClaflin would like to remind citizens that driving under the influence is dangerous and a serious offense.\u00a0 Please don\u2019t get behind the wheel if you\u2019ve had anything to drink.<\/p>\n

\"\"KILLDEER, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a woman crossing a road to help a motorist whose vehicle was disabled was struck and killed near Killdeer. The patrol says the 73-year-old Killdeer woman had pulled over on the shoulder of the highway and was walking across the road to assist a driver who had a flat tire. Authorities say a 58-year-old Berthold man who was driving down the highway wasn\u2019t able to avoid the victim and struck her with his pickup. The woman died at the scene. The crash happened about 4:30 pm Wednesday. The patrol says it was dark and cloudy at the time.<\/p>\n

\"\"BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 The cost of North Dakota\u2019s special five-day session last month is within the amount that was budgeted. Figures released to The Associated Press show costs incurred by taxpayers so far total just more than $301,000. About $316,000 was budgeted for the session. Legislative budget analyst Allen Knudson says 11 of the Legislature\u2019s 141 members had not submitted lodging and mileage expenses as of Thursday. He says the final cost of the special session is expected to be close to the amount estimated. Legislators make $189 daily while in session.<\/p>\n

(AP)\u00a0 While all eyes are on the new and little-understood omicron variant, the delta form of the coronavirus isn\u2019t finished wreaking havoc in the U.S., sending record numbers of patients to the hospital in some states, especially in the Midwest and New England. The U.S. recorded its first known omicron infection on Wednesday, in a fully vaccinated person who had returned to California from South Africa, where the variant was first identified just over a week ago. For now, the extra-contagious delta variant accounts for practically all cases in the U.S. and continues to inflict misery at a time when many hospitals are struggling with shortages of nurses and a backlog of patients. And now the fear is that omicron will foist more patients, and perhaps sicker ones, onto hospitals.<\/p>\n

BETHESDA (AP) \u2014 President Joe Biden is kicking off a more urgent campaign for Americans to get COVID-19 booster shots. Biden on Thursday is unveiling a winter plan to combat the coronavirus and its omicron variant with enhanced availability of shots and vaccines but without major new restrictions. Biden is set to require private insurers to cover the cost of at-home COVID-19 tests and to tighten testing requirements for people entering the U.S. regardless of their vaccination status. Biden’s administration says it’s making 50 million COVID-19 tests free for older people and other vulnerable groups for pickup at senior centers and community sites.<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 The United Nations headquarters in New York City was locked down for several hours after a man was seen pacing outside with what police said appeared to be a shotgun. The man was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. During the standoff, the man held an object pointed at his own throat, possibly a firearm. He didn’t appear to be trying to breach the security perimeter. Police said there was no danger to the public. People inside U.N. headquarters were initially told to shelter in place, but were later allowed to move about the complex and come and go from other entrances.<\/p>\n

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) \u2014 A 15-year-old boy has been denied bail and moved to jail after being charged in a Michigan school shooting that killed four students and injured others. Authorities on Wednesday revealed that Ethan Crumbley’s parents were summoned to discuss his behavior just a few hours before the bloodshed Tuesday. No motive for the shooting was offered by Oakland County authorities. But sheriff\u2019s Lt. Tim Willis told a judge that Crumbley recorded a video the night before the violence in which he discussed killing students. Crumbley is charged as an adult with 24 crimes, including murder and terrorism.<\/p>\n

CALLAHAN, Fla. (AP) \u2014 Officials say a 57-year-old Florida man who served as the music minister at a church is accused of fatally shooting his wife and two adult children. Nassau County Sheriff Bob Leeper says William Conway Broyles called 911 on Wednesday to report what he had done. He later told investigators that he shot his wife and children multiple times \u201cjust to make sure they didn\u2019t suffer.” The sheriff says Broyles was unarmed and lying in the driveway of his home in Callahan when deputies arrived. Charged with three counts of second-degree murder, Broyles appeared before a judge Thursday morning and was denied bond.<\/p>\n

SAN DIEGO (AP) \u2014 Migrants seeking to enter the United States will again have to stay in Mexico as they await immigration hearings. The Biden administration reluctantly announced plans Thursday to accept the Trump-era policy and agreed to Mexico’s conditions for resuming it. That paves the way for returns to Mexico beginning next week. Mexico says it’s committed to migrant rights and safe migration. Revival of the \u201cRemain in Mexico\u201d policy comes even as the Biden administration maneuvers to end it in a way that survives legal scrutiny. President Joe Biden scrapped the policy, but a lawsuit by Texas and Missouri forced him to put it back into effect, subject to Mexico\u2019s acceptance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
