\u00a0(AP) The U.S. is expanding COVID-19 boosters, opening a third dose of Pfizer’s vaccine to people as young as age 16. The U.S. and many other nations already urge adults to get a booster to pump up their immunity months after initial vaccination. In the U.S., the Pfizer vaccine is the only option for children and teenagers. The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday cleared an extra dose for those ages 16 and 17, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rapidly endorsed a booster for those ages. It’s not clear if younger teens will need one.<\/div>\n

Vehicles parked on the street slow the snow removal process and can make the streets of Jamestown more dangerous<\/p>\n

Jamestown Police marks vehicle tires for 48-hour parking.<\/p>\n

Two days after the tires are marked, officers check and issue parking citations for any vehicle that hasn’t moved. If a vehicle is in violation it can be towed.<\/p>\n

Jamestown city Ordinances address \u00a0overtime parking on the street or not clearing snow and ice from sidewalks\u2026. a violation and a Class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine and possible jail<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Only a few of the tens of thousands of people who may be eligible have taken advantage of a policy change that lets those with low-level marijuana convictions in North Dakota petition have their records wiped clean. Records show only 51 of the 70 people who applied have been granted pardons in the two years since the policy was put in place. Another three people await approval by Gov. Doug Burgum. Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem estimates as many as 175,000 marijuana convictions could be eligible for pardons under the policy. They can have their records wiped clean if they avoid unlawful behavior for five years.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2014 Two men have been indicted for murder in connection with a fatal beating on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in western North Dakota. An FBI affidavit alleges Edward Finley and Kenneth Grady, both 30, caused the death of 38-year-old Valentino White Jr. by punching and kicking him in an October attack at a New Town mobile home. The affidavit says White at one point allegedly was upset with another man and pulled a knife. Later Finley allegedly punched White and knocked him off a chair and when White tried to fight back witnesses said Finley and Grady punched and kicked him in the head during the altercation, which later resulted in his death.<\/p>\n

\"\"KANSAS CITY, Mo.\u00a0 (UJ<\/a>)\u00a0 —\u00a0<\/strong>Three University of Jamestown women’s volleyball players were named All-American as the NAIA national office released its postseason honors Thursday.<\/p>\n

Anna Holen<\/a> (SR\/LaMoure, N.D.) was named to the first team. Holen, who was a first-team selection in 2020, recorded 310 kills and added 498 digs and 46 blocks on defense. She finishes her career with 1,677 digs, second-most in Jimmie history.<\/p>\n

Kalli Hegerle<\/a> (SR\/West Fargo, N.D.) was named to the second team. Hegerle, a first-team selection in 2020, led the Jimmies with 328 kills and was one of four players to hit above .300, finishing at .302. Hegerle added 75 blocks on defense.<\/p>\n

Corina Huff<\/a> (SR\/Pequot Lakes, Minn.) was named honorable mention. Huff led the team with a .393 hitting percentage, the second highest in school history. She had 268 kills and 97 blocks, and finishes her career with 412 blocks, seventh all-time on the Jimmie career list.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

(AP) Many of the perennial contenders are still in the title chase as the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs head into the quarterfinal round this weekend. Six of the remaining playoff teams have won national titles, all but one of them within the last two decades. In addition to defending national champion Sam Houston, the list includes James Madison, North Dakota State<\/strong>, Montana, Montana State and Villanova. But the playoffs have once again shown nothing is a given no matter what the name is on the front of the jersey.<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Americans\u2019 overall income has accelerated since the pandemic, but so has inflation \u2014 and a new poll finds that far more people are noticing the higher prices than the pay gains. Two-thirds say their household costs have risen since the pandemic, compared with only about a quarter who say their incomes have increased, according to a poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Half say their incomes have stayed the same. Roughly a quarter report that their incomes have dropped. The fast-rising prices that have been surging through the economy have forced many Americans to change their spending habits.<\/p>\n

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (AP) \u2014 North Carolina authorities say a high school student has been taken into custody after he was found carrying a rifle with a loaded magazine on a school bus. According to The Daily Advance of Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten said the juvenile student was carrying a pistol-grip AK-47 with a loaded 30-round magazine Wednesday morning. Wooten says the bus driver called an assistant principal after smelling marijuana on the student. Wooten says a school resource officer searched the student and found the rifle and marijuana before taking the student into custody.<\/p>\n

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) \u2014 Two lawsuits seeking $100 million each have been filed against a Michigan school district, its superintendent and others after four students were fatally shot and others wounded at Oxford High School. Attorney Geoffrey Fieger says the lawsuits were filed in Detroit federal court by Jeffrey and Brandi Franz on behalf of their daughters, Riley, a 17-year-old senior who is recovering after being shot in the neck Nov. 30, and her sister Bella, a ninth grader who was next to her. Named in the suits are the Oxford school district, Superintendent Tim Throne, Oxford High’s principal and others. The Associated Press sent an email seeking comment from the district. Ethan Crumbley, a 15-year-old sophomore, was arrested and is charged as an adult with murder, terrorism and other crimes.<\/p>\n

HOUSTON (AP) \u2014 Rapper Travis Scott says in an interview that he didn’t know that fans had died at his Astroworld festival in Houston until after his performance ended. In the interview with Charlamagne Tha God posted on Thursday, Scott said he paused the performance a couple of times but couldn’t hear fans screaming for help. Ten people who attended the festival on Nov. 5 died following a massive crowd surge. Scott, concert promoter Live Nation and other companies associated with the show have been sued by hundreds of people. A criminal criminal investigation is ongoing, but no one has been charged. Scott denied that his history of encouraging fans to rush the stage or bypass security contributed to the deaths.<\/p>\n
