Mike Jorissen was born June 7, 1953, in Valley City, ND to Jake and Myrtle Jorissen.\u00a0 He grew up in Dazey, ND, going to school in Dazey and North Central of Barnes.\u00a0 He farmed with his brothers, Gary and Rick along with Jimmy Ludwig before going to work for FEI in Valley City.\u00a0 While at FEI, he traveled across the state.<\/p>\n
The mid 90\u2019s was when his battle with cancer started.\u00a0 He won the first battle and went 25 years cancer free.\u00a0 His last battle was a short one that he couldn\u2019t win.<\/p>\n
While living in Valley City, he was a member of \u201cSpike\u2019s Gang\u201d and could always be found on weekends at Spikes Lounge with friends.<\/p>\n
Mike passed away December 8, 2021, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND with two of his brothers, a sister, and a sister-in-law by his side.<\/p>\n
He is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Esther (Gary) Jacobson, Gary (Ruth) Jorissen, Rick (Char) Jorissen, Judy Jorissen and Todd (Laurie) Jorissen; many nieces and nephews; and several friends.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jackie, Larry, and Dave; and a sister, Linda.<\/p>\n
The funeral service for Mike Jorissen, 68, will be held at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel, Valley City, on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM.\u00a0 Visitation will be the hour prior to the service.\u00a0 He will be laid to rest in the Dazey Cemetery that afternoon.\u00a0 The funeral service will be live streamed then archived and available to view along with his obituary at www.lerudschuldt.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
