{"id":242484,"date":"2022-01-05T10:22:06","date_gmt":"2022-01-05T16:22:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=242484"},"modified":"2022-01-06T05:25:05","modified_gmt":"2022-01-06T11:25:05","slug":"jmst-downtown-snow-clearing-starts-11-p-m-wed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=242484","title":{"rendered":"Jmst Downtown snow clearing starts 11-p.m. Wed."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (City)\u00a0 Jamestown City crews will begin clearing drifted snow in the Downtown Business District starting W<strong>ednesday, January 5, 2022, at 11:00 p.m.<\/strong> All vehicles should be removed from the downtown streets, avenues, and alleyways.<\/p>\n<p>The above schedule is contingent upon changing weather conditions and snow accumulation totals.<br \/>\nJamestown City Code Sec. 25-10.1. &#8211; Deposit on streets and alleys, etc.<br \/>\nIt shall be unlawful for any person to remove snow, slush, or ice from private property or from any driveway, curb cut, or sidewalk and deposit the same upon the surface of any street or alley within the city. The snow and ice may be removed by the city and the necessary expense thereof shall be chargeable against the abutting lot or property.<br \/>\n(a)Violation of this section is a class B misdemeanor under the general penalty.<br \/>\nIt is unlawful to remove snow and ice from a sidewalk and place onto a City street, unless given permission from the City Engineer\u2019s office. The only area given permission is the Downtown Snow Removal District. See map of Downtown Snow Removal District on www.jamestownnd.gov for details. City Ordinance below:<br \/>\nJamestown City Code Sec. 25-10. &#8211; Snow and ice\u2014Removal from sidewalk.<br \/>\nThe occupant or owner of each lot or parcel of land and the owner of each unoccupied lot or parcel within the city, adjoining any street, and along which sidewalks have been built, shall clear the sidewalks, and shall keep clear sidewalks along such lot or parcel of land all accumulations of snow and ice. It is an offense for the owner of any lot in the city to fail to remove from such sidewalk in front of or along any lot therein the ice or snow. The snow and ice may be removed by the city, and the necessary expense thereof shall be chargeable against the abutting lot or property.<br \/>\n(a)The owner or occupant of any lot or parcel of land that is allowed by the City Engineer&#8217;s Office to deposit snow or ice from sidewalks onto the city streets adjoining that property shall do so prior to the city removing snow and ice from that adjoining street.
