Jeralyn Behm, age 78, of Valley City, ND, died Monday, February 28th<\/sup>\u00a0at SMP-St. Raphael after a courageous battle with Alzheimer\u2019s surrounded by her loving family under Hospice of Red River Valley Care.\u00a0 A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 4th<\/sup>\u00a0at Our Savior\u2019s Lutheran Church in Valley City.\u00a0 Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Friday one hour before the service all at the church.\u00a0 A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the church.\u00a0 Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in the spring.\u00a0 An online guestbook and livestream of Jeri\u2019s service will be available at www.lerudmathias.com.<\/p>\n

Jeralyn Diane Olson was born May 13,1943 in Valley City, ND. \u00a0She attended elementary and high school in valley city, graduating in 1961 from VCHS. \u00a0She attended NDSSS and obtained her LPN degree. \u00a0She married Lawrence Behm on October 25 1963.\u00a0 She worked at Mercy Hospital for 35 years. \u00a0Most of those years were in the OB dept where she took care of many babies over the years. \u00a0She so loved those babies. \u00a0She was very active in the Eagles, both at the local level and state level. \u00a0She was State Madam President in 2013-2014. \u00a0Jeri and Lorny traveled to many State conventions and National Eagles conventions all over the US. \u00a0She enjoyed her Tuesday morning coffee group and she LOVED to shop. \u00a0She was always buying “treasures” for her grandkids and great grandkids.\u00a0 Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren. \u00a0Jeri and Lorny were huge supporters of all their grandkids sporting events. \u00a0They traveled many miles across the state to watch them play. \u00a0Jeri loved to take pictures at all family get togethers, if you didn’t want your picture taken, too bad because you were getting your picture taken!!<\/p>\n

Jeri is survived by her husband Lorny of 58 years; her children, Larry(Aneica) Behm, Beulah, Laura (Steve) VanAsperen, Ypsilanti and Lynette (Russ) Stephens, Valley City; her grandchildren, Lindsey(Matt) Mitzel, Dickinson, Joe(Lacey)Worrel, Adrian, Nicole (Justin) Behm, Velva, Garrett VanAsperen, Ypsilanti, Logan (Maci) Behm, Beulah, Nate Rodriguez, and Blake Stephens, both Valley City; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Gauge Mitzel, Hallie and Reed Worrel and Tenley Behm<\/p>\n

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Leatrice and Olaf Torgerson and in-laws Adolf and Laura Behm.<\/p>\n

The family prefers memorials to Alzheimer\u2019s Association or Hospice of the Red River Valley.<\/p>\n
