The assistance was made available under a major disaster declaration issued April<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">1<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2020.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page3R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">FEMA has<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">approved<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">more<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">than $<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">1<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">.<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">3<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">million in<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Public Assistance funding for the North Dakota COVID<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">19 <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">response to date.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The latest round of FEMA funding<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">$<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2.<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">8<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">million to the North Dakota Department of Health<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">is<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">to<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">operate<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">63 <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">COVID<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">19 testing and vaccination sites<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">from December 17, 2020<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">through F<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ebruary<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">28<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, 2022<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">. This includes the<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">cost of staffing<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">, supplies<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">warehouse<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">rental,<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">and transportation to testing and vaccination sites<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"page3R_mcid3\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The grant also<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">covers the cost of processing more than 500,00 COVID<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">19 test samples.<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid4\" class=\"markedContent\"><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">For the COVID<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">19 response, FEMA ha<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">s simplified the Public Assistance application and funding process to address <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">the magnitude of this event and to allow local officials to receive eligible funding more quickly.
