Jamestown (JPD)\u00a0 Jamestown Police report\u00a0 an accidental shooting occurred in Friday afternoon June 17.<\/p>\n
Police Chief Scott Edinger says\u00a0 a 44-year-old woman was accidentally shot in the chest in Northeast Jamestown.<\/p>\n
The report says, the Stutsman County Communications Center received a 911 call from\u00a0 someone reporting an accidental shooting at about 4:30 p.m. at the 500 block of 2nd Avenue Northeast.<\/p>\n
Jamestown police officers responded and found the woman with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.<\/p>\n
Jamestown Ambulance Service transported the victim to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center where she was stabilized and airlifted to Fargo.<\/p>\n
A 9-millimeter handgun, one shell and an unspent shell were seized.<\/p>\n
Officers interviewed a witness, a 55-year-old woman, and processed the scene.<\/p>\n
Reports were sent to the Stutsman County State’s Attorney’s office for review.<\/p>\n
The incident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
