A Mexican federal official who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to make statements confirmed Sunday to The Associated Press that the notification was made Saturday and took place virtually. Caro Quintero is incarcerated in a high-security prison west of Mexico City. It offered a $20 million reward for information leading to his capture. There was less certainty about the commitment of Mexican President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador, who had made clear his lack of interest in pursuing drug lords.
