{"id":252301,"date":"2022-07-20T09:40:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-20T14:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=252301"},"modified":"2022-07-25T12:08:16","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T17:08:16","slug":"cynthia-beth-hopewell-july-13-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=252301","title":{"rendered":"Cynthia Beth Hopewell July 13, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cynthia Beth Hopewell, 67, of West Fargo, ND passed away on July 13, 2022 at Sanford Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cynthia was born November 11, 1954 in Lisbon, ND to Gerald and Geraldine Hopewell \u2013 their first born.&nbsp; Cynthia attended grade school in Lisbon, ND, until the family made their home south of Leonard, where Cynthia graduated high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cynthia attended NDSU and later went on to work as a baker at the Fargo Elk\u2019s Lodge, later moving to Phoenix, Arizona.&nbsp; While in Arizona, Cynthia married Bruce Orvedahl in 1990.&nbsp; They made their home in Arizona for 10 years, where Cynthia started her career caring for those with disabilities at Toby House.&nbsp; In 1995, she fulfilled her biggest dream of becoming a mother, giving birth to her son, Jared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though Cynthia had a disdain for the cold and winter, she moved back to ND in August 1997 to raise her son and be surrounded by family. Being a mother to Jared was her greatest love, and she always showed it by being his biggest supporter and best friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again, she found a job that showcased her giant heart, where she worked as a caregiver for the developmentally disabled at Friendship, Inc.&nbsp; Where she was a role model employee for over 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cynthia took \u201chonor your father and mother\u201d to heart.&nbsp; She was an advocate and comfort to her father as he struggled with Parkinson\u2019s in his later years.&nbsp; After his passing, she called her mother three times per day (morning, noon, and night) to check in and provide comfort.&nbsp; Her mother cherished those phone calls greatly. She and her mother shared a very special bond \u2013 the first born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was an avid and accomplished baker and cook.&nbsp; Baking was a passion. She expressed her love through food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loyal, compassionate, loving \u2013 that was Cynthia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cynthia is survived by her son, Jared Elijah Hopewell; her grandson, Jaiden Elijah Hopewell; seven siblings:&nbsp; Dianne (Dale) Mischke, Kindred; Karen (Ken) McMahon, Kindred; Geoff Hopewell, Kindred; Jesse (Wanda) Hopewell, Kindred; Jack (Lori) Hopewell, Kindred; Jeremy (Pamela) Hopewell, Watertown; and Lucinda (Michael) Goetz, Fargo; and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald (2013) and Geraldine (2020) Hopewell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friends and family will gather beginning at 3:00 PM, Friday July 22, 2022 in the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel, Valley City, ND where a celebration of Cindy\u2019s life will be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lerud Mathias Funeral Home is assisting Cindy\u2019s family with arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To send a flower arrangement or to plant trees in memory of&nbsp;<strong>Cynthia Hopewell<\/strong>, please&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lerudschuldt.com\/obituary\/cynthia-hopewell\/flowers?campaign=obituaryThemed-flowers-textLink-obitText\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">click here to visit our Sympathy Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CELEBRATION OF LIFE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong><time>Friday, July 22, 2022<\/time><\/strong><\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;3:00 PM<\/li><li><strong>LERUD MATHIAS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; 515 CENTRAL AVE N<br>VALLEY CITY, ND 58072<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cynthia Beth Hopewell, 67, of West Fargo, ND passed away on July 13, 2022 at Sanford Hospital.
