{"id":253020,"date":"2022-07-31T09:15:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-31T14:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=253020"},"modified":"2022-07-31T16:57:38","modified_gmt":"2022-07-31T21:57:38","slug":"253020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=253020","title":{"rendered":"Trooper McLane&#8217;s Headstone Replacement Ceremony Aug 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jamestown  (NDHP)  On Monday, Aug 1, at 1:00 pm, the North Dakota Trooper\u2019s Association (NDTA) will hold a ceremony to replace the headstone of NDHP Trooper Beryl McLane, the only NDHP Trooper killed in the line of duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McLane was killed in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.odmp.org\/officer\/9062-patrolman-beryl-e-mclane\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.odmp.org\/officer\/9062-patrolman-beryl-e-mclane\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">car crash near LaMoure on Friday, July 30, 1954<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.odmp.org\/officer\/9062-patrolman-beryl-e-mclane\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.odmp.org\/officer\/9062-patrolman-beryl-e-mclane\">.<\/a> His patrol car was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by a drunk driver traveling on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of speed. McLane had served the patrol for 13 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The North Dakota Trooper\u2019s Association, along with an anonymous donor, purchased the new headstone to honor Trooper McLane. The ceremony will be at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Highland+Home+Cemetery\/@46.9354042,-98.7341862,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xdedb847122a61573!8m2!3d46.9354042!4d-98.7341862\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Highland+Home+Cemetery\/@46.9354042,-98.7341862,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xdedb847122a61573!8m2!3d46.9354042!4d-98.7341862\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Highland Home Cemetery, 3309 Hwy 281 SE<\/a>, Jamestown.
