Jamestown (UJ) \u2013 The University of Jamestown Booster Club teamed up with the Jimmie Football team to host their first Back-to-School Night at the Jamestown Speedway on August 13, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the evening\u2019s race, which was sponsored by the Jimmie Booster Club, Jimmie Football athletes gave out backpacks full of school supplies to kids 12 and under.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cI can\u2019t thank the Jamestown Speedway enough for allowing us this chance to connect with the community,\u201d said Tara Kapp, Director of the Booster Club. \u201cThe night was an incredible and super fun experience. Hats off to Coach Brian Mistro and his players for their dedication and hard work. I can\u2019t say enough about how proud we are of those young men.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, 25 backpacks filled with folders, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, pencil bags, and glue were handed out, equaling a near $500 investment from the Jimmie football team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis was the Jimmie Booster Club\u2019s first time sponsoring a race, and Back-to-School Night was definitely something important to us,\u201d explained Kapp. \u201cOur partnership with the Jimmie football team made the night an even bigger success. Our goal is to be there every year to continue to help area kids and parents get back into the groove for school, while connecting the University of Jamestown and the Jimmie Booster Club with area racers and race fans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

In addition to giving away backpacks, the Jimmies sold 50\/50 raffle tickets. One lucky audience member took home $770, as did the University\u2019s football team.
