Jamestown (CSi) On Thursday, August 25, 2022 Jamestown Collins Aerospace employees, representatives, leaders, and others watched as ground was broken on their expansion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It includes 20,000 square-feet of additional manufacturing space. It modernizes the site\u2019s chemical processing and paint lines to meet their increased production needs, maximize operational efficiency, and improve site ergonomics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This first phase of an expansion of Collins Aerospace in Jamestown is expected to be completed by May 2023. The entire project expected to be completed by 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 1980, Collins Aerospace has since grown to include three facilities and nearly 500 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VP & GM Brad Haselhorst spoke about the expansion and what it means for Collins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich talked about the longtime support and involvement Collins Aerospace has had with the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He lauded Collins Aerospace and the Jamestown Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) to make the new 20,000 square-foot additional manufacturing space possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
JSDC VP of Business Development Corry Shevlin says the work to get this project goes back to 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shevlin says Collins Aerospace will be the first tenant of the Jamestown Aviation Park, that will help them continue to be the largest private employer in Jamestown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the ceremony, the shovel that was first used when Collins Aerospace first broke ground in Jamestown more than 50 years ago, was brought back and used Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
