(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/article\/6654\">UJ<\/a>) &#8212;&nbsp;<\/strong>The University of Jamestown men&#8217;s soccer team began its weekend Oregon road trip with a 3-0 loss to Oregon Tech Friday afternoon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The match was originally scheduled to be played in La Grande, Ore., but air quality issues pushed the start time back an hour and moved the location to Pendleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 13th minute, UJ&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/7\/12513\">Jacob Holtz<\/a> (JR\/Bismarck, N.D.) hit the post, and the carom played right to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/7\/12375\">Austin Shafer<\/a> (SR\/Jamestown, N.D.), but his shot attempt went wide of the goal. Two minutes later, Oregon Tech&#8217;s Hunter Hoogerwerf had a shot attempt hit the post, then his follow-up try was blocked&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DeShone Myles finally broke the deadlock with a 43rd minute goal assisted by Ryan Pearson to give the Owls the lead going into the break.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Sarna made it 2-0 in the 53rd, but the Jimmies kept pressing offensively. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/7\/12371\">Wade McWhorter<\/a> (FR\/Loveland, Colo.) came on as a substitute in the 66th minute, and less than 45 seconds late, nearly put UJ on the board, but unfortunately hit the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrew Pasang added a 71st minute insurance goal to round out the scoring for the Owls. Jamestown had a pair of shots go over the crossbar in the final minutes but were unable to find the net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shots were 15-11 in favor of Oregon Tech, as were shots on target (5-1). Jort Rujissenaars had a pair of saves in his collegiate debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jimmies (1-2-0) return to action Sunday against College of Idaho.
