{"id":256898,"date":"2022-09-15T16:27:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T21:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=256898"},"modified":"2022-09-15T21:49:12","modified_gmt":"2022-09-16T02:49:12","slug":"arthur-kollie-found-guilty-murdering-jupiter-paulson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=256898","title":{"rendered":"Arthur Kollie Found Guilty, Murdering Jupiter Paulson"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Fargo   (<a href=\"https:\/\/kfgo.com\/2022\/09\/15\/kollie-found-guilty-in-murder-of-jupiter-paulsen\/\">KFGO<\/a>) \u2013 Arthur Kollie has been found guilty of murdering 14-year-old Jupiter Paulsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a short deliberation Thursday afternoon, the jury found Kollie guilty of murder, aggravated assault, and robbery in the June 4, 2021 killing of Paulsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During closing arguments, Assistant Cass County State\u2019s Attorney Ryan Youngren told the jury that Kollie demonstrated awareness of his actions by his attempts to cover up the crime and in his interviews with police.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paulsen was stabbed and strangled while roller-blading between her parents\u2019 homes when she was attacked in the parking lot of Party City.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile relieved, it has been a long couple of weeks and, of course, a long almost year and a half to see this through,\u201d Younggren said. \u201cWe\u2019ve gotten a lot of good support and cooperation from the family, witnesses, and everybody that\u2019s been involved in this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kollie\u2019s mental health-stability and use of methamphetamine were highlighted during the trial. His&nbsp;attorney, Eric Baumann, leaned heavily on the testimony of a counselor who gave Kollie a preliminary diagnosis of a psychosis just days before Paulsen was murdered. Ultimately, he told the jury prosecutors had not proven that Kollie could comprehend his actions on that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paulsen\u2019s parents were in the courtroom.
