{"id":260469,"date":"2022-10-26T13:34:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-26T18:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=260469"},"modified":"2022-10-27T14:19:42","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T19:19:42","slug":"jsdc-receives-21st-century-workforce-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=260469","title":{"rendered":"JSDC Receives 21st Century Workforce Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) \u2013JSDC has received the 21st Century Workforce Award for their Internship Reimbursement Program.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Governor\u2019s office says the award is given to an entity for their innovation and forward thinking in addressing their community\u2019s workforce shortage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gov. Doug Burgum and Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford  announced  Wednesday the recipients of the 2022 Governor\u2019s Main Street Awards during the closing event for the 2022 Main Street ND Summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNorth Dakota is a state full of opportunity and active community partnerships,\u201d Gov. Doug Burgum said. \u201cWe are grateful for all the communities that have invested in the ideals of the Main Street Initiative to help us garner even more opportunity for our residents and businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Governor\u2019s Main Street Awards are a collaborative effort of the Office of Governor and the North Dakota Department of Commerce. A selection committee made up of collaborating agencies and partners evaluates entries to determine final awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other award recipients include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Healthy, Vibrant Community\u202fAward (rural)<\/strong> \u2013 Hettinger Chamber of Commerce for their Tuesday Night Lights. Held weekly throughout September, this event brought citizens to Hettinger\u2019s main street to enjoy food trucks, music and shopping at their favorite main street businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Healthy, Vibrant Community\u202fAward (urban)<\/strong> \u2013 Fredrick Edwards Jr. and the City of Fargo for the Juneteenth event. This event gave participants the opportunity to engage in education, entertainment and art in celebration of Juneteenth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Smart, Efficient Infrastructure Award<\/strong> \u2013 Gilby Grind and Community Center for remodeling an old grocery store into a community center and coffee shop for all to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main Street Excellence Award (rural)<\/strong> \u2013 Hankinson Arnold Althoff Amphitheater for the investment in spaces to incentivize community activity and provide entertainment opportunities for community members and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main Street Excellence Award (urban)<\/strong> \u2013 Mandan Main Street for creating a vibrant and engaging environment by focusing on downtown revitalizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Economic Diversification Award<\/strong> \u2013 Destination Red River Project in Pembina, Walsh and Grand Forks counties for working together to address challenges and bring forward solutions that benefit the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Future Leaders Empowerment Award <\/strong>\u2013 Watford City High School Ambassador Program for encouraging young people to seize the opportunity to be leaders in their community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) \u2013JSDC has received the 21st Century Workforce Award for their Internship Reimbursement Program.
