Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther Thursday requested additional funding to ensure the soon-to-be built rescue fire truck met the department\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Previously the City Council’s Police & Fire Committee approved a guarantee purchase price for a new vehicle, at $585,264. Chief Reuther now says additions have increased the price to ensure the as yet to be built rescue fire truck met the department\u2019s needs, including slide out drawers from the passenger side to the driver\u2019s side, to maximize storage space inside the truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The additional cost of $18,967 is needed to complete the request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With Council Member Schloegel not present, the committee unanimously approved the additional funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
