{"id":261475,"date":"2022-11-09T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-09T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=261475"},"modified":"2022-11-14T08:56:42","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T14:56:42","slug":"barnes-county-temporary-burn-ban-in-effect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=261475","title":{"rendered":"Barnes County Burn Ban Lifted Weds"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Valley City  (CSi)  Barnes County has  rescinded the burn ban on Nov 9 following a mixture of rain and snow in the county with heavy snow in the forecast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was issued  on Sun Nov 6 after several grass fires ignited in multiple areas of the county due to tender dry conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dehayf5mhw1h7.cloudfront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1065\/2022\/11\/09165138\/Burn-Ban-rescinded-November-2022.pdf\">Burn-Ban-rescinded-November-2022<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous Story<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valley City  (CSi)  Multiple grass fires due to tender dry conditions.has prompted Barnes County on Sunday to issue a temporary burn ban effective immediately Sunday Nov 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emergency Manager Sue Lloyd says no structures have thus far  burned, however the grass fires have threatened to burn some structures as the  strong west wind gusted at more than 40 mph  fueling the area grass fires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lloyd says firefighters have responded to calls of grass fires in the Urbana and Eckelson areas along with north and south on State Highway 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Valley City Rural Fire District was  called out for mutual aid to assist the Page Fire Department as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added that \u201cThere has been no injuries reported but structures have been in jeopardy of catching fire due to the conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in the weekend,  firefighters from the Sanborn Rural Fire District and the Valley City Rural Fire District were fighting grass fires in Barnes County since Saturday, November 5th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a temporary burn ban for all Barnes County effective immediately:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WHEREAS, Barnes County, North Dakota is under abnormally dry Conditions; WHEREAS the impact of fires could threaten the health, well-being, and safety of citizens in Barnes County; and WHEREAS the cost of response and the inordinate equipment wear may be far in excess of available county resources. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commission has issued a temporary burn ban effective immediately for Barnes County, North Dakota. This burn ban will be reviewed within 7 days of the date issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This burn ban prohibits the burning of leaves, grass clippings, garbage\/pits, construction debris, fallen trees, crop residue or hay land, sloughs, and campfires\/bonfires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO WILLFULLY VIOLATES THIS BURN BAN IS GUILTY OF A CLASS B MISDEMEANOR, WHICH CARRIES A PENALTY OF UP TO THIRTY (30) DAYS IN JAIL AND A $1,500.00 FINE PER INCIDENT, AS WELL AS THE COST FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn1.itmwpb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1065\/2022\/11\/Burn-Ban-November-2022.pdf\">Burn-Ban-November-2022<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valley City (CSi) Barnes County has rescinded the burn ban on Nov 9 following a mixture of rain and snow in the county with heavy snow in the forecast.
