\u00a0Betty Sjostrom, age 76, of Fargo, ND passed away expectantly, Saturday, December 31st, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND surrounded by loved ones.
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Betty was born on March 1st, 1946 to Helga and John Linerud of Valley City, ND. She graduated from Valley City High School in 1964 and married Harley Sjostrom. \u00a0They made their first home in Fort Riley Kansas where Harley was stationed in the Army, welcoming their first daughter during their years in Kansas.\u00a0 They moved back to Valley City after Harley\u2019s service in the army was complete, making their home on a farm outside of the city. \u00a0Here they welcomed 2 additional daughters and a son. \u00a0They divorced in 1974 and Betty moved to Valley City where she earned her teaching certificate from Valley City State College. \u00a0For the next 25 years, she dedicated her teaching to high school and college business courses before retiring to. Fargo in 2013.\u00a0 Betty made her home in Fargo where her highlight was spending time with\u00a0 the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. \u00a0She was present at hundreds of sporting events, dance recitals, musicals, and concerts.
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She is survived by Daughters- Carrie (Dan) Trageton, Leslie (Glenn Knoll) Sjostrom, and Kami Anez, Son- Jason (Hilary) Sjostrom, Brothers- Myron and Larry Linerud, Sisters- Ruth Strating, Dagny Cahill and Linda Wurzer. 11 Grandchildren- Kayleigh, Chelsea, Tyler, Samuel, Savannah, Harley, Caleb, Jonas, Sullivan, Sienna, Lawson and 4 Great-Grandchildren \u2013 Elizabeth, Svea, Abigail, Arthur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Helga and John, Brothers- Donald and Joe, Sisters-Helen, Sally, Shirley, and Gunda. Harley Sjostrom, and Son-in-law, Jared Anez.
