(JRMC) \u2013 Jamestown Regional Medical Center recently announced Mitch Gahner as its most recent Legend Award recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Legend Award is the most prestigious distinction for a JRMC employee. The Legend Award recognizes employees who exceed expectations and are THE difference in the lives of those they serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
JRMC\u2019s Plant Secretary Brianna Mayhair nominated Gahner, who serves as the hospital\u2019s help desk technician.
\u201cMitch is legendary in so many ways. He is quick to assist in any problem, no matter how small or minor, with a positive attitude. IT does not get the credit it is due,\u201d Mayhair wrote. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gahner joined the JRMC team in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
JRMC Legends are real-life examples for others to follow. Every day, acts of heroism take place in healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMitch is so deserving of this award,\u201d said Bev Fiferlick, JRMC Chief Financial Officer. \u201cIT teams work tirelessly behind the scenes, making sure everything works for all of our employees and patients at JRMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
LOCAL LEGENDS
A legend is not created in a day. It takes consistent commitment to performing with selfless purpose. A legend commits every day \u2014 without concern for recognition \u2014 to being irreplaceable. Mitch is an example of this, said IT Manager Jeff Gunkel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMitch helps JRMC stay connected. His work ensures our teams can continue offering the very best in patient care,\u201d Gunkel said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each month, JRMC employees cast nominations for the next Legend Award winner. Once nominations are in, JRMC\u2019s 350 employees vote on their favorite nominees and their stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of the Legend Award is to inspire, motivate and capture the moments that define JRMC. The goal is to help employees and volunteers connect to the sense of purpose that brought them to the organization. This award is for employees who\u2019ve made extreme efforts to benefit their patients and colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
