The Industrial Commission, consisting of Gov. Doug Burgum as chairman, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and Attorney General Drew H. Wrigley, oversees NDHFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 Helping HAND grant distribution follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>\u2022 Community Action Region VI, Jamestown, $11,278<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Community Action Partnership, Dickinson\/Williston, $18,109<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Community Action Partnership, Minot, $17,635<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Dakota Prairie Community Action Agency, Devils Lake, $12,955<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Red River Valley Community Action, Grand Forks, $21,678<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Southeastern ND Community Action Agency, Fargo, $42,068<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Community Action Program Region VII, Bismarck, $29,877<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Trenton Indian Service Area, Trenton, $22,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, Belcourt, $22,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Rebuilding Together, Fargo, $1,200<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Rebuilding Together, Bismarck, $1,200<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NDHFA provides the Helping HAND grants to targeted community groups with existing single-family housing rehabilitation programs. The funds are used to help households with an income of 80% or less than the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development\u2019s median for the county in which a home is located. Matching funds of at least 25% percent of a rehab project\u2019s total cost is are required to access the grant dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThrough Helping HAND, North Dakota Housing Finance Agency has provided over $6.5 million in grants that has leveraged more than $49 million and helped over 7,900 lower-income individuals and families across the state,\u201d said Dave Flohr, NDHFA executive director. \u201cRoof replacement is the most common rehab project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NDHFA\u2019s Helping HAND program began in 1993 and is funded with agency earnings. The grants are distributed to Community Action Agencies by poverty level. Funds provided to tribal housing authorities and non-profits are established set-asides. Households in need of rehab assistance, can contact a grant recipient for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NDHFA is a self-supporting state agency dedicated to making housing affordable for all North Dakotans.
