News) &#8212; &#8220;Serve and Protect,&#8221; takes on a new meaning, as Law Enforcement Torch Run\u00ae volunteers donate their time to serve delicious food at Applebee\u2019s restaurants, all for a great cause.<\/p>\n<p>The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics will conduct the 8<sup>th<\/sup> annual statewide &#8220;Tip A Cop&#8221; event at all Applebee\u2019s Neighborhood Grill &amp; Bars, September 24 &amp; 25, 2013 from 5-p.m., to 9-p.m. Local law enforcement personnel in Jamestown, Bismarck, Fargo, Dickinson, Grand Forks, Minot and Williston will be working dinner shifts collecting &#8220;tips&#8221; to help Special Olympics provide programs to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>The Law Enforcement Torch Run program is the largest grass-roots public awareness and fundraising program for Special Olympics throughout the world.<\/p>\n<p>The torch, which is the Flame of Hope, is part of all Special Olympics ceremonies, symbolizing the unlimited potential of the human spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Special Olympics North Dakota provides year-round programs of sports training, athletic competition, and health athlete initiatives for 1,400 children and adults with intellectural disabilities in North Dakota.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grand Forks, ND (KCSi-T.V.
