Set scores were 32-30, 25-21, 27-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown was 20-0 against the Vikings dating back to September 29, 2006.<\/li><li>VCSU only won four out of 64 sets in those matches, and had won just one set since 2017.<\/li><li>Wednesday night, the Jimmies led 14-13 in the first before VCSU took back-to-back points and kept the lead until UJ went ahead 19-18 after a kill by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/zieske_aleah_ffwd\">Aleah Zieske<\/a>.<\/li><li>Zieske,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/hegerle_grace_z5aj\">Grace Hegerle<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/olson_lexi_btcl\">Lexi Olson<\/a>&nbsp;all had kills to bring Jamestown even at 24-24.<\/li><li>Olson gave the Jimmies a 30-29 lead but VCSU won the final three points to take the set.<\/li><li>UJ fell behind 6-2 in the second and never led, getting as close as 23-20 and 24-21 before the Vikings won the set on an attack error.<\/li><li>Set three was back-and-forth in the early stages, with neither team getting ahead by more than two points until VCSU reeled off four straight to take a 17-12 lead.<\/li><li>Jamestown briefly went in front 19-18 on Hegerle&#8217;s kill, but three in a row by the Vikings caused the Jimmies to use their second timeout of the set.<\/li><li>Following the stoppage, VCSU took two more points and had a 23-19 lead.<\/li><li>Hegerle and Zieske had kills to help UJ pull level at 24-24, but the Vikings took the final two points to win the match.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE JIMMIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Zieske led Jamestown with 13 kills and had 13 digs.<\/li><li>Olson had 11 kills while hitting .344 and Hegerle hit a team-best .400 with 10 kills and added 18 digs.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/bertsch_lily_4q5i\">Lily Bertsch<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/oswald_paige_u8a8\">Paige Oswald<\/a>&nbsp;each passed out 19 assists.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/holen_ellie_inc1\">Ellie Holen<\/a>&nbsp;racked up 37 digs and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/johnson_darienne_bgvh\">Darienne Johnson<\/a>&nbsp;was in on seven total blocks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE VIKINGS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mardi Scutchings had 10 kills, while three players finished with nine.<\/li><li>Sadie Hansen passed out 39 assists.<\/li><li>JayCee Richter led VCSU with 30 digs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown (16-7 overall, 9-1 GPAC) hosts No. 9 College of Saint Mary (Neb.)
