The stolen vehicle was a 2017 Black Chevy Tahoe and was being driven by 42-year-old <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=278127\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"278127\" target=\"_blank\">Ian Cramer<\/a> of Bismarck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mercer County Sheriff\u2019s Office located Cramer and the 2017 Black Chevy Tahoe in Hazen.<br>When law enforcement approached Cramer, he fled in the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.<br>During the pursuit, the vehicle Cramer was driving veered and crashed head-on into an<br>unoccupied Mercer County Sheriff\u2019s Office patrol vehicle that was parked on a roadside<br>approach. The Sheriff\u2019s Office vehicle was displaying its emergency lights at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Mercer County Deputy was standing outside and behind the patrol vehicle when it was<br>struck. The impact of the crash pushed the patrol vehicle into the deputy, killing him. At the<br>time the deputy was preparing to deploy a tire deflation device in attempt to end the pursuit.<br>Cramer was taken into custody, transported to the Sakakawea Medical Center in Hazen, and<br>then taken to the Mercer County Jail in Stanton.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MartinPaul.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MartinPaul.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278157\" width=\"357\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MartinPaul.jpg 460w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MartinPaul-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MartinPaul-264x175.jpg 264w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 357px) 100vw, 357px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Mercer County Deputy killed in the incident has been identified as Paul Martin, 53, Beulah.<br>Deputy Martin was an 18-year veteran with the Mercer County Sheriff\u2019s Office and is survived<br>by his wife and three children.<br>This incident occurred five miles west of Hazen on Highway 200 at 5:35 pm central time on<br>December 6, 2023.<br>Due to the on-going investigation no other information will be released at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 12\/6\/23 the Bismarck Police Department received the report of a stolen vehicle from Bismarck.
