Sebastian Spangler, 82, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully Friday, December 15, 2023 on the farmstead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sebastian Spangler was born January 27, 1941 in Jamestown, ND to Sebastian and Lula (Heasley) Spangler. He was the last member of the Pioneer family of George and Margaret Spangler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
George Adam Spangler left Wisconsin in 1879 and traveled to Jamestown Dakota Territory. Margaret\u2019s father Sebastian Bienes came with them to the Eldridge area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sebastian used his middle name George. George graduated from Jamestown High School in 1959 and attended Valley City State College and Ohio State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
George farmed and raised cattle until 2003. He also had an antique business since 1964. He was a life member of Elks and Eagles Lodge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
George married Diane Luiken in February 15, 2003. She passed away on May 25, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is survived by his sister Rae (Tom) Wanzek, Moorhead, MN; three nieces Carolyn Tomlin-Cichos, Linda Nord, Julie Wanzek; three nephews Gordon Tomlin, Galen Ibes and Gregg Ibes. He was preceded in death by his wife Diane, sisters Delaine Tomlin and Darlene Rosalie and parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Tammy Toepke-Floyd officiating. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
