{"id":279053,"date":"2024-01-08T11:34:48","date_gmt":"2024-01-08T17:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=279053"},"modified":"2024-01-08T11:34:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T17:34:49","slug":"gerald-huber-thursday-january-4-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=279053","title":{"rendered":"Gerald Huber &#8211; Thursday January 4, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;Jerry (Gerald) Charles Huber, 76, of Jamestown ND, passed peacefully into eternity on January 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.&nbsp; A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown, ND.&nbsp; Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a prayer\/celebration service at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024 Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.&nbsp; Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND in the Spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jerry was born November 2, 1947, to Carl and Ruth (Heinle) Huber at Jacobsen Memorial Hospital in Elgin, ND.&nbsp; He attended a one room rural schoolhouse through sixth grade and graduated from Carson High School in 1965. He was a true German as he only spoke German through the first grade.&nbsp; He graduated from Dickinson State College in 1969 with degrees in Biology and Chemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On June 4, 1970, he married Donnel Pahl.&nbsp; Together they had two children, son Jason and daughter Rebecca.&nbsp; After being married for six weeks, Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in South Vietnam at fire base \u201cPace\u201d as a Field Artillery Fire Direction Controller.&nbsp; While serving in Vietnam, he was repeatedly exposed to agent orange which contributed to multiple health problems later in life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Following his military service, he taught high school Biology and Chemistry in Valentine, Nebraska.&nbsp; Eventually returning to school in Omaha, Nebraska, he pursued a career in health care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.&nbsp; He worked in this career until his retirement in 2012.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jerry genuinely loved God and loved life.&nbsp; His zest, resilience, and humor were contagious and made him a truly magnetic person, always wanting to be where the \u201caction\u201d was.&nbsp; He enjoyed being outdoors.&nbsp; You could usually find Jerry outside mowing the lawn, blowing the snow, or spending time with friends.&nbsp; Having a large affection for sweets, he would never turn down the opportunity to enjoy a donut.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He also loved spending time with his \u201cA, B, C\u201d grandsons \u2013 Alex, Ben, and Carter.&nbsp; Hunting, fishing, watching basketball, baseball, and riding along in the golf cart, were among his most cherished memories.&nbsp; Jerry considered his three grandsons his greatest accomplishment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jerry and Donnel enjoyed the warm weather \u2013 traveling and sightseeing.&nbsp; Many memories were made spending time together with family.&nbsp; &nbsp;Broderick (Brody) Huber, Jerry\u2019s first great-grandchild had a special place in his heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife Donnel Huber, children Jason (Maira) Huber, Rebecca (Jason) Wells, grandsons Ben (Emily) Huber, Alex (Jenna) Huber, Carter Wells, and great-grandson Broderick Huber.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any donations received will be donated to Hospice of the Red River Valley and Roger Maris Cancer Center in honor of Jerry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;Jerry (Gerald) Charles Huber, 76, of Jamestown ND, passed peacefully into eternity on January 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.&nbsp; A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown, ND.&nbsp; Visitation [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":279054,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[26],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-279053","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-obits"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/279053","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=279053"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/279053\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":279055,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/279053\/revisions\/279055"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/279054"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=279053"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=279053"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=279053"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
